Abstract

1393322 Ignition systems ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 12 Sept 1973 [13 Sept 1972] 42869/73 Heading F1B An ignition system for an internal-combustion engine comprises a contactless generator adapted to produce an alternating current having substantiely identical half waves but of opposite polarity, a threshold value switch 15 connected thereto, a central stage 27 and an electronic switch 41 adapted to be operable responsively to the operation of the generator to interrupt the primary current of an ignition coil 43 of the engine, an output of the threshold value switch being connected by way of a storage member 29 adapted to store electrical energy in a decreasing amount as the engine speed increases to the input of a semi-conductive control switch 28 of the control stage, the ratio of conductive to non-conductive time of the control switch being arranged to increase as the engine speed increases and the output of the control switch being connected to the electronic switch. As shown the contactless generator is an inductive generator having a winding 11. In a modification (not shown) the control stage 27 contains instead of the transistor 28 an AND-gate comprising two transistors.
