Abstract
1,074,587. Permanent magnets. PERKINELMER Ltd. April 13, 1964 [April 16, 1963], No. 14882/63. Heading H1P. In a permanent magnet field assembly for nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers, the magnets 1 have pole-pieces 4 spaced slightly from their ends by supporting tubes 7 attached either to the housing or the magnets and having a coefficient of thermal expansion such as to maintain the flux in the working gap substantially independent of temperature. Axial position of the polepieces is adjusted by screw controlled wedges 11, 12, and the transverse position by screws 13.
