Abstract

1,095,915. Electromagnets. GEORGE KENT (STROUD) Ltd. March 23, 1966 [March 24, 1965], No. 12396/65. Heading H1P. [Also in Division G1] In an electromagnetic flowmeter, the magnetic field is produced by a pair of opposing field coils 5 wound on a laminated soft iron yoke 4 surrounding a tube 1 for the flowing medium. The portions 7 of the yoke intermediate the coils may be shaped to obtain a desired (e.g. uniform) field distribution. Polepieces (8), Figs. 1 and 3 (not shown) may be provided.
