Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing bituminous sealing sheets, in particular those with thermally and / or mechanically sensitive reinforcing inserts made of plastic, and a system for carrying out this method.
- bituminous waterproofing membranes the mechanical properties such as strength and elongation at break are primarily determined by the insert, while the adhesive strength, tightness and weather resistance are mainly a function of the plastic coating made of pure or modified with plastics and / or fillers.
- Foils, felts, nonwovens, fabrics, knitted fabrics, knitted fabrics and grids made of different materials are used as inlays, in accordance with the requirements of the respective use.
- Vapor barriers for example, foils made of metal and roof sealing sheets, reinforcing inserts made of glass or polyester fiber fleece, jute, glass fiber or polyester fiber fabric or raw felt cardboard. Because of their favorable behavior in building movements and crack bridging, stretchable reinforcing inserts based on plastics are used to an increasing extent, especially in polymer bitumen sheeting.
- Sealing membranes with such inserts show similar defects as are known from plastic roofing membranes (Kunststoffe im Bau, 1983, pages 73 to 75).
- the frozen tension states caused by the production are released during or after laying.
- this deformation is triggered by the hot glue or the direct heating of the web.
- With cold laying the shrinkage of the web only occurs when there is more sunlight.
- bituminous waterproofing membranes on a conventional roofing membrane machine is described in the "Bitumen and Asphalt Taschenbuch", Bauverlag, 5th edition, pages 96 to 99.
- the machine consists of a large number of units connected in series, such as the unwinding stand, hanging devices, impregnation devices, coating material application devices, spreading devices, turning chair, cooling rollers and winding apparatus.
- Bitumen membranes reinforced with polyester fibers have been available in Europe since 1960 and in Germany since 1965 ( roofing Materials Guide, Vol. 8, pages 18 to 29). The problem described has existed since then and, as described above, there has been no lack of attempts to solve it. The use of pre-stretched nonwovens and the establishment of special laying instructions did not lead to a permanent solution.
- a bituminous membrane 13 is applied hot to the cooled, co-rotating plane support device 7, which is given away with liquid or solid release agent 10, with a doctor blade 12, after pre-cooling onto this still sufficiently sticky membrane 13
- Reinforcement layer 1 made of elastic plastic rolled up and after application of at least one further bituminous layer 17 and a scatter 18 or lamination with a film, the finished web is cooled to ambient temperature.
- Plate and belt conveyors come into question as support devices, but in particular cooling belts.
- Cooling belts have the advantage that the bituminous membrane and the other bituminous layers can be cooled according to an optimal temperature / time program. This not only reduces the heating of the insert. This also makes it possible to produce bituminous membranes from layers of different compositions without cumbersome transfer processes (DE-A-23 06 235), without the layers mixing with one another or the layer thicknesses fluctuating.
- the reinforcement insert is rolled up onto the membrane lying on the cooling belt.
- the application of further bituminous layers, interrupted by cooling sections, is carried out in succession by means of roller application.
- Further inserts, such as foils, can be arranged between the layers, as is known from various sealing sheets.
- the web is then scattered or laminated before it leaves the cooling belt.
- the application and laminating or pressure rollers are driven at the same peripheral speed that corresponds to the conveying speed of the cooling belt.
- impregnation is required, it is done by roller application or brief immersion followed by squeezing off the excess bitumen and air cooling.
- the method and the device according to the invention can be used by making minor changes for the production of a wide range of different sealing sheets, as will be explained on the basis of the examples below.
- bitumen 100/25 When producing a welding track, a 2 mm thick layer of bitumen 100/25 is applied to the cooling belt with a glycerin film as a release agent at 170 ° C with a doctor blade. After cooling to 100 ° C., a 1 mm thick layer of bituminous mass modified with atactic polypropylene (APP) is applied to the first bitumen layer with a temperature of 160 ° C. using an application roller. After the surface has cooled to 100 ° C., a polyester fiber fleece with a basis weight of 200 g / m 2, which was previously impregnated with an APP-modified bitumen mass by roller application and squeezing, is rolled onto this bituminous membrane.
- APP atactic polypropylene
- a 2 mm thick top layer of a bituminous mass modified with APP is applied to the fleece with an application roller and sprinkled with slate chippings.
- the web is driven over a turning chair and with talc on the back powdered before it is wound in lengths of 5 m.
- the take-off speed is 25 m / min. With proper laying on the roof, no shrinkage occurs.
- all liquid or pasty agents which do not dissolve bituminous substances and whose boiling point is above the processing temperature of the bituminous substances used such as e.g. B. glycerin or talcum slurries. They are sprayed or painted onto the surface of the cooling belt.
- the tape can also be powdered with dry talc or sprinkled with fine sand.
- the structure of the system is described using the figure as an example for the production of a roof sealing membrane with a polyester insert, which is powdered with talc on the underside and is sprinkled with slate chippings on the top.
- the membrane is suitable for full-surface gluing with hot bitumen.
- the system must be converted with appropriate known units.
- the polyester fiber fleece (1) (basis weight 200 g / m2) with the pair of pulling rollers (2) is pulled off the unwinding stand (3) and conveyed into the hanging device (4).
- the cooling belt (7) is powdered with talc (10) by means of a blower (8) and wide slot nozzles (9).
- the conveyor speed of the belt (7) is 35 m / min.
- the 160 ° C hot, APP-modified bituminous covering compound is evenly applied to the tape (7) and spread with the doctor blade (12) to form a 1.5 mm thick membrane (13).
- the impregnated fleece (1) is laminated onto the membrane (13) with the pressure roller (14), the peripheral speed of which corresponds to the conveying speed.
- the application roller (15) from the container (16) is used to apply a 1.5 mm thick cover layer (17) made of 160 ° C.
- the hot bituminous cover composition modified with APP to the fleece.
- the surface is sprinkled with slate chippings (18) with a grain size of 0.5 to 2 mm from the container (19).
- the grit (18) is pressed on with the pressure roller (20) and the unbound grains are removed.
- the web is conveyed into the hanging device (21), from where it is fed from the pair of pulling rollers (22) via the cutting device (23) to the winding apparatus (24).
- the dimensional change of the membrane produced according to the invention is determined in accordance with DIN 16 937 after storage at 80 ° C. and the results with those on a corresponding machine on a conventional roof membrane manufactured web compared. The results are compared in the table below.
