Commercially available bicycle saddles are equipped with a non-removable seat cover, which is usually water-repellent, but which is not always 100% dry for the bicycle owner, provided the bicycle saddle is exposed to normal weather conditions.

Many bicycle owners use plastic shopping bags to protect their bicycle saddles from the weather. These plastic bags are usually only attached in a makeshift manner - e.g. with an elastic band - and are only able to withstand the weather to a limited extent. The tear resistance of the material is low. No commercially available bicycle saddle type has an option to stow the bag under the bicycle seat, so the plastic bags are often lost after only a short period of use.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem that a commercially available bicycle saddle - possibly supplemented by a commercially available bicycle saddle cover - cannot always be protected from the effects of the weather. The vast majority of bicycle users have only a limited appreciation for a wet bottom - caused by a wet bicycle saddle. This can significantly limit the usability of the object "bicycle".

Conventional methods of drying a wet bicycle saddle in the short term usually do not lead to a 100% satisfactory result. Cyclists usually do not carry suitable items for quickly drying a wet bicycle saddle completely (e.g. towel, electric hair dryer) with them.

The use of a commercially available separate bicycle saddle cover often fails due to the fact that the seat cover is either not available at the right time or cannot be conveniently stowed in the bicycle.

The invention enables cyclists to use their bikes exposed to the weather at any time without getting wet bottoms and without having to carry a separate protective cover with them on every ride:

- If the bike has been left outside in the rain or overnight and the bike saddle is therefore wet or damp at the time you want to start your journey, the previously fitted bike saddle weather protection can be removed, rolled up in a matter of seconds and stowed under the completely dry bike saddle.

- If you forgot to put on the bicycle saddle weather protection before setting off on your journey and the bicycle was left in the rain or outside overnight and the bicycle saddle is therefore wet or damp at the time you want to start your journey, the completely dry bicycle saddle weather protection can be taken out of the storage compartment in a matter of seconds and pulled over the damp bicycle saddle.

Claims (2)

Protection claims for bicycle saddle weather protection 1. Bicycle saddle cover made of weatherproof, water-repellent material (e.g. nylon) with sewn-in elastic band for standard bicycle saddles, characterized, - that the bicycle saddle protective cover (1) is firmly connected to the underside of the bicycle saddle (3) at its wide end by means of two straps (2), - that the bicycle saddle cover (i) can be folded up when not in use and stored under the rear part of the bicycle saddle (4) with a Velcro fastener (5), - that the bicycle saddle protective cover (i) can be pulled over the bicycle saddle (3) from the resting position (6) after opening the Velcro fastener (5). 2.
