Durch Zunahme des Fahrradtourismus hat der Transport von Fahrrädern mit dem PKW durch Privatpersonen stark zugenommen. Meist werden dafür auf dem Dach oder an der Anhängerkupplung befestigte Gepäckträger verwendet. Während des Transportes sind die Farhräder dabei den Witterungsunbilden ausgesetzt. Die meisten Räder sind zwar bezüglich ihrer Metallteile relativ unempfindlich, da vorwiegend Aluminium, Edelstahl und hochwertige Lackierungen verwendet werden, eine Ausnahme bildet aber der in vielen Fällen aus Leder bestehende Sattel. Nässe und Verschmutzung schädigen den Sattel sehr und machen ihn unansehnlich bezw. unbrauchbar.Due to the increase in bicycle tourism, the transport of bicycles by car by private individuals has increased significantly. Das Gehäuse ist mit 1 bezeichnet und trägt zwei Verschlußbänder 5 sowie zwei korrespondierende Kletteile 4. Diese Kletteile 4 sind etwas breiter als die Bänder 5 um eine sichere Verbindung zu gewährleisten. Da die Figur 2 eine Draufsicht ist kann man die an der Unterseite der Bänder 5 befindlichen Klettzonen dort nicht erkennen. Die Form des Gehäuses 2 besteht zum sicheren Umschließen des Sattels 1 aus einer oberen Fläche 10, zwei senkrechten Teilen 8 und zwei Abdeckklappen 6, die elastisch sind und z.B. über zwei Klappkanten 9 mit der oberen Fläche 10 verbunden sind. Wie aus Figur 1 ersichtlich ist, umschließt die Schutzeinrichtung den dort gestrichelt gezeichneten Sattel 1 völlig und das Naßwerden und eine Verschmutzung beim offenen Transport des Fahrrades auf einem PKW wird vermieden. Durch das Loch 7 auf der Unterseite kann das Sattelrohr 3 austreten. Die das Loch 7 bildenden halbrunden Öffnungen in den Abdeckklappen 6 sind in Figur 2 deutlich erkennbar.The housing is designated 1 and has two fastening straps 5 and two corresponding Velcro parts 4.
