Armored vehicle with a command post

The present solution relates to an armoured vehicle according to the features specified in the preamble of patent claim 1.

Such an armoured vehicle consists of the usual parts such as a drive motor, transmissions, wheel sets or tracked drive, a crew compartment and a housing that accommodates all the fittings and attachments. In the case of an infantry fighting vehicle in particular, several soldiers are transported in the vehicle, who can quickly get out or sit on the vehicle via a tailgate. In another type of vehicle, the armoured transport vehicle, abbreviated GTK, the vehicle is divided into modules and a so-called mission module is housed interchangeably on the chassis or drive module. Various weapons and equipment can then be carried interchangeably on the vehicle as modules. In one vehicle variant, a rolling command post is represented as a command vehicle, in which several soldiers in the vehicle work on maps or data devices.

According to the state of the art, various proposals have been made for the construction of vehicles and armoured transport vehicles.

In DE 195 02 036 A1, a tracked vehicle is adapted quickly and cost-effectively to different operational requirements by designing the hull structure in a modular manner and consisting of at least two modules.

DE 196 19 865 A1 describes a convertible military wheeled vehicle with separable modules, which consists of a basic housing to accommodate the vehicle components and can be converted from a diesel-mechanical to a diesel-electric drive with advantages for the height and design of the vehicle.

From DE 199 27 656 A1 an armoured transport vehicle is known which is equipped with an unmanned turret including carriage and on-board machine gun as armament, which is remotely controlled by the crew from inside the vehicle.

In the case of a command post vehicle as a mobile command post for a highly mobile force, where rapid relocation from one location to another is a special mission characteristic, a large number of devices and equipment for fulfilling the command task must be completely accommodated on one or more vehicles. Since the basic vehicle is developed as a family vehicle, where geometric size and high weight are a fundamental negative criterion for plausible reasons, the representation of the command post vehicle on the basis of the family vehicle is a special interior and space problem when designing the specific vehicle.

The known solutions have the disadvantage, for example, that the crew's working space is very limited due to a given vehicle size, which is kept as small as possible due to other criteria, and the performance is reduced due to the tight space conditions.

The task is to create a command post with sufficient working space for several soldiers and for the necessary equipment and installations on a known vehicle. The conditions are the objective that

Instead of the mission module (2), an articulated module consisting of a mounting part (4), a joint (5) and a trailer part (3) is arranged on a known vehicle (1).
•All fittings that are specific to the command post vehicle are installed in the attachment part (4) and the trailer part (3). In connection with the joint (5), a bellows (6) protects the coupling connection between the vehicle (1) and the trailer (3). Here, a passage or a walk-through connection between the vehicle (1) and the trailer (3) is arranged so that a large, continuous space is created if required.

The advantages are that the working area and working space for the operators of the command post are increased and, on the other hand, the vehicle's structure and silhouette are little changed when driving compared to the other vehicle variants in the vehicle family, namely only in the vehicle length if the trailer part is included. In addition, all operators can work constantly under armored protection in the vehicle interior, which may be necessary at times, and enables operation while driving in addition to stationary operation. All operators in the vehicle can have visual and voice contact with each other, as the vehicle and trailer are connected by a walk-in connection, whereby at least in the trailer full standing height can be set up for the crew.

The trailer can also be operated separately as a command post if the appropriate external power supply and equipment are available. The articulated coupling can be designed so that the towing vehicle and the trailer can be separated and connected without additional equipment or tools. It is also possible to use other towing vehicles.

Figure 1 shows a base vehicle or driving module 1 with a wheeled chassis and the mission module 2 attached to the top and rear. The mission module contains specific equipment for a task or mission, and is mounted in a removable, interchangeable manner so that mission modules can be used to equip specific vehicles, all of which have an identical base vehicle.

Figures 2 and 3 show a base vehicle 1 in which the mission module 2 has been removed. For this purpose, an articulated module consisting of attachment part 4, joint 5 and trailer part 3 is arranged on the base vehicle, whereby the driving module 1 and the trailer 3 are connected by means of a joint 5 which is installed in a double floor in the area of the joint 5. A bellows 6 as shielding and protection for the joint 5 and for the built-in and attached parts is attached between the attachment part 4 and the trailer 3. Trailer 3 has at least one wheel set 8 and is pulled by the driving module 1.

Claims (5)

1. Armoured transport vehicle ( 1 , 2 ) with a wheeled or tracked chassis and a drive for propulsion as well as a vehicle body for receiving and installing all components for operating the vehicle including a vehicle crew and a tailgate at the rear of the vehicle and equipment as a command post vehicle, characterized in that the entire vehicle consists of a base vehicle ( 1 ) as a towing vehicle and a towed trailer part ( 3 ) and that required installations and equipment for the command post vehicle are distributed between an attachment part ( 4 ) of the vehicle and the trailer part ( 3 ) and that the trailer part ( 3 ) and the attachment part ( 4 ) are attached to or with the base vehicle instead of a mission module ( 2 ) removed from the base vehicle, with an articulated part ( 5 ) establishing the connection between the base vehicle ( 1 ) and the trailer part ( 3 ). 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that additional equipment parts and crew parts are accommodated in the attachment part ( 4 ). 3. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that a bellows ( 6 ) or another elastic hose-like covering is fastened between the attachment part ( 4 ) and the trailer part ( 3 ) and encloses the joint ( 5 ) which connects the driving module ( 1 ) and the trailer part ( 3 ) in an articulated manner on all sides. 4. Device according to one of claims 1-3, characterized in that the joint ( 5 ) between the driving module ( 1 ) or between the attachment part ( 4 ) is designed and arranged such that a passage for the crew between the trailer ( 3 ) and the vehicle ( 1 , 4 ) or a continuous large crew and work space is formed. 5. Device according to one of claims 1-4, characterized in that a tailgate ( 7 ) is attached to the trailer ( 3 ) in addition to other flaps and hatches through which the crew can get in and out.
