Armoured transport vehicle with a command post

The present solution relates to an armoured transport vehicle according to the features specified in the preamble of patent claim 1.

Such an armoured vehicle consists of the usual parts such as a drive motor, transmissions, wheel sets or tracked drive, a crew compartment and a housing that accommodates all the fittings and attachments. In the case of an infantry fighting vehicle in particular, several soldiers are transported in the vehicle, who can quickly get out or sit on the vehicle via a tailgate. In another type of vehicle, the armoured transport vehicle, abbreviated GTK, the vehicle is divided into modules and a so-called mission module is housed interchangeably on the chassis or drive module. Various weapons and equipment can then be carried interchangeably on the vehicle as modules. In one vehicle variant, a rolling command post is represented as a command vehicle, in which several soldiers in the vehicle work on maps or data devices.

According to the state of the art, various proposals have been made for the construction of vehicles and armoured transport vehicles.

In DE 42 19 688 C2, an air-transportable armoured vehicle is constructed from a chassis and several housing parts arranged on it, whereby a housing part consists of a lower part fixed to the chassis and a movable upper part, which can be pushed in vertically during air transport to reduce the volume of the vehicle.

In DE 195 02 036 A1, a tracked vehicle is adapted quickly and cost-effectively to different operational requirements by designing the hull structure in a modular manner and consisting of at least two modules.

DE 196 19 865 A1 describes a convertible military wheeled vehicle with separable modules, which consists of a basic housing to accommodate the vehicle components and can be converted from a diesel-mechanical to a diesel-electric drive with advantages for the height and design of the vehicle.

From DE 199 27 656 A1 an armoured transport vehicle is known which is equipped with an unmanned embrasure turret including carriage and on-board machine gun as armament, which is remotely controlled by the crew from inside the vehicle.

In the case of a command post vehicle as a mobile command post for a highly mobile force, where rapid relocation from one location to another is a special mission characteristic, a large number of devices and equipment for fulfilling the command task must be completely accommodated on one or more vehicles. Since the basic vehicle is developed as a family vehicle, where the geometric size and high weight represent a fundamental negative criterion for plausible reasons, the representation of the command post vehicle on the basis of the family vehicle is a special interior and space problem when designing the specific vehicle.

The known solutions have the disadvantage, for example, that the crew's working space is very limited due to a given vehicle size, which is kept as small as possible due to other criteria, and the performance is reduced due to the tight space conditions.

The task is to create a command post with sufficient working space for several soldiers and for the necessary equipment and installations on a known vehicle. The conditions are the objective that

the command post is only used with all its functions when the vehicle is stationary,

when the vehicle is moving, all necessary parts are carried on the vehicle,

the vehicle silhouette must be aligned with the other versions and variants of the known vehicle type,

Because of the radar signature and the protective structure, a smooth outer wall with few openings is desired and additional storage boxes are installed at the rear and on the roof.

This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1. Further features emerge from the subclaims.

Instead of the known mission module, a command post module is arranged as a mission module (2) with extendable or extendable walls on a known vehicle (1). This module has an extendable rear wall (3) and a roof (4) that can be raised. This greatly increases the usable volume of the vehicle for stationary operation when the vehicle is stationary. The walls are retracted for driving and the vehicle shows no differences in geometric size and silhouette compared to other family vehicles.

The advantages are that the working area and space for the operators of the command post are increased when stationary and, on the other hand, the vehicle's structure and silhouette are not changed when driving compared to the other vehicle variants in the vehicle family. In particular, the full standing height for the operators is achieved when the roof is extended. In addition, all operators can work under armored protection in the vehicle interior at all times, which may be necessary at times, and at least partial operation while driving is possible in addition to stationary operation when the vehicle is stationary. The full mobility of the basic vehicle is maintained when the walls are retracted.

Examples of embodiments are shown schematically in the drawings and are described in more detail below. They show:

Figure 1 shows a base vehicle or driving module 1 with a wheeled chassis and the mission module 2 attached to the top and rear. The mission module contains specific equipment for a task or mission and is removable and interchangeable, so that specific vehicles can be equipped using mission modules, all of which have an identical base vehicle. The mission module 2 as a command post module has an extendable rear wall 3 and a lifting roof 4, which can be extended in extension directions 7 and 8.

Figure 2 shows the vehicle 1 and mission module 2 with the roof 4 raised (5) and the rear wall 3 extended (6) to the rear.

Figure 3 shows the command post module 2 with extendable roof 4 and extendable rear wall 3 (solid line) in a longitudinal section of the vehicle 1.

In order to achieve permanent armor protection, the side walls of the roof 4 and the rear wall 3 shown in Figures 2 and 3 and which can be extended from the vehicle 1 are, for example, armored or made of comparable armor protection walls.

Depending on the design variants not shown in detail, the roof can also be made in several parts, for example in two parts. For example, with a two-part roof only the rear part is raised because the front part is set up for the armament.

According to a further embodiment variant not shown, the lifting roof 4 can be pivoted on one side about a horizontal axis in order to adapt to the space requirements, whereby only one edge of the roof has to be raised to standing height, in contrast to the lifting roof, in which the roof is raised as a whole.

The extension mechanism of the roof 4 and the rear wall 3, which is not shown in detail, can be driven manually or by a motor, whereby the drive can be designed with auxiliary power support including an associated control system with a storage system.

When the walls 3, 4 are extended or retracted, the position of installed equipment not shown and/or the associated seats in the command post module 2 or in the vehicle 1 can also be adjusted manually or by means of an auxiliary drive.

Claims (6)

1. Armoured transport vehicle ( 1 , 2 ) with a wheeled or tracked chassis and a drive for propulsion as well as a vehicle body for receiving and installing all components for operating the vehicle including a vehicle crew and a tailgate at the rear of the vehicle and equipment as a command post vehicle, characterized in that a mission module ( 2 ), which is interchangeably attached to a vehicle ( 1 ), is provided with extendable walls ( 3 , 4 ) as a liftable roof ( 4 , 5 ) and as an extended rear wall ( 3 , 6 ), wherein the walls can be retracted or extended depending on the operating and driving state. 2. Vehicle according to claim 1, characterized in that instead of a mission module dismantled from the driving module ( 1 ), a command post module ( 2 ) with extendable walls is arranged and attached to the driving module. 3. Vehicle according to claim 1 and 2, characterized in that only a rear part of a two-part roof is raised and the front part is adapted for another function such as armament. 4. Vehicle according to one of claims 1-3, characterized in that the liftable roof ( 4 ) is alternatively pivoted on one side about a horizontal axis and thus only one roof edge is raised to standing height, in contrast to the lifting roof, in which the roof is raised as a whole. 5. Vehicle according to one of claims 1-4, characterized in that the extension mechanism, which moves the roof ( 4 ) and rear wall ( 3 ) from a retracted position into an upward and rearward extended position ( 5 , 6 ) and vice versa, can be designed manually or by motor with auxiliary power support including an associated control with a storage system. 6. Vehicle according to one of claims 1-5, characterized in that built-in devices and/or associated seats in the command post module ( 2 ) or in the vehicle ( 1 ) can also be adjusted in their position manually or by means of an auxiliary drive during the extension or retraction of the walls ( 3 , 4 ).
