Abstract

Internal fittings such as a board (1) or table for charts and maps can be slid away when the vehicle (8) is moving and whilst the vehicle is stationary they can be pulled out to the rear through a tailgate using a pull-out mechanism including the folding operator's seat (2). The vehicle can be wheel or track-mounted and can be equipped for combat.

Armoured transport vehicle with a command post

The present solution relates to an armoured transport vehicle according to the features specified in the preamble of patent claim 1.

Such an armoured vehicle consists of the usual parts such as a drive motor, transmissions, wheel sets or tracked drive, a crew compartment and a housing that accommodates all the fittings and attachments. In the case of an infantry fighting vehicle in particular, several soldiers are transported in the vehicle, who can quickly get out or sit on the vehicle via a tailgate. In another type of vehicle, the armoured transport vehicle, abbreviated GTK, the vehicle is divided into modules and a so-called mission module is housed interchangeably on the chassis. Various weapons and equipment can then be carried interchangeably on the vehicle as modules. One vehicle variant is a rolling command post in which several soldiers work on maps or data devices in the vehicle.

According to the state of the art, various proposals have been made for the construction of vehicles and armoured transport vehicles.

In DE 195 02 036 A1, a tracked vehicle is adapted quickly and cost-effectively to different operational requirements by designing the hull structure in a modular manner and consisting of at least two modules.

DE 196 19 865 A1 describes a convertible military wheeled vehicle with separable modules, which consists of a basic housing to accommodate the vehicle components and is powered by a diesel

mechanical to a diesel-electric drive with advantages for the height and design of the vehicle. From DE 199 27 656 A1 an armoured transport vehicle is known which is equipped with an unmanned embrasure turret including carriage and on-board machine gun as armament, which is remotely controlled by the crew from inside the vehicle.

In a command post vehicle as a mobile command post for a highly mobile force, where rapid relocation is a particular mission characteristic, a large number of devices and equipment for fulfilling the command task must be completely accommodated on one or more vehicles. Since the basic vehicle is developed as a family vehicle, where geometric size and high weight are a fundamental negative criterion for plausible reasons, the representation of the command post vehicle on the basis of the family vehicle presents a particular interior and space problem when designing the vehicle.

The known solutions have the disadvantage, for example, that the working space of the crew is very limited due to a given vehicle size, which is kept as small as possible due to other criteria, and the performance is reduced due to the tight space conditions.

The task is to create a command post with sufficient working space for several soldiers and for the necessary equipment and installations on a known vehicle. The conditions apply,

the command post is only used with all its functions when the vehicle is stationary,

when the vehicle is moving, all necessary parts are carried on the vehicle,

the vehicle silhouette must be aligned with the other versions and variants of the known vehicle type,

Because of the radar signature and the protective structure, a smooth outer wall with few openings is desired and additional storage boxes are installed at the rear and on the roof.

This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1. Further features emerge from the subclaims.

An extension or intermediate tent (7) at the rear of the vehicle and at the tailgate is seen as an extension of the working area for the command post. Folding/sliding and folding mechanisms are used to reduce the command post from stationary operation to the smaller size of the basic vehicle or a basic mission module for driving operation. The movable mechanisms are limited to the built-in components so that the outer skin is not broken and remains smooth. To accommodate the extensive equipment of a command post, additional external storage boxes are provided on the vehicle roof and at the rear of the vehicle to the left and right of the tailgate.

The advantages are that the working area and working space for the operators is increased to the rear beyond the tailgate when stationary, and that the vehicle's structure and silhouette are hardly changed when driving compared to the other vehicle variants in the family. This also takes into account the fact that a vehicle only very rarely operates for the intended task and in exceptional cases with all hatches and flaps closed when the vehicle is stationary, in which case the extendability would not be applicable. With the help of the tent extension, it is also possible for several people, in numbers that exceed the vehicle crew, to work on the map board. The tent guarantees standing height and can be designed to be ABC-proof and heated if required.

Examples of embodiments are shown schematically in the drawings and are described in more detail below. They show:

When driving, according to Figures 1 and 2, extendable parts, the map board 1 and the seats 2 for the map board 1, are stowed in the interior of a vehicle opposite to the extension direction 9 of the extendable parts. Monitors 3 as vehicle built-in devices are housed in the vehicle on the outer housing wall and behind the map board 1 and can be moved along the direction 4. Seats 6 for the monitor operators are also folded up (folding direction 5). A passage 11 remains free between the seats 6 and the map board 1.

Figures 3 and 4 show stationary operation when the vehicle 8 is stationary. A tent 7 is attached to the rear 10 of the vehicle 8 over the entire rear contour. Underneath this are the built-in components, map board 1 and associated seats 2, which are held by an extension mechanism (not shown in detail) and pulled out to the rear. The monitors 3, which are installed in the vehicle, can be moved towards the center of the vehicle in certain cases to provide a suitable working distance from an operator sitting on one of the seats 6 (see Figure 2 for direction of movement 4). This means that four operators can work at four workstations, with two places being set up under the tent 7 using the extension mechanism.

Claims (6)

1. Armoured transport vehicle ( 8 ) with a wheeled or tracked chassis and a drive for propulsion as well as a vehicle body for receiving and installing all components for operating the vehicle including a vehicle crew and a tailgate at the rear of the vehicle and equipment as a command post vehicle, characterized in that built-in devices such as a map board or map panel ( 1 ) are on the one hand pushed into the vehicle and stowed away when the vehicle ( 8 ) is moving ( Fig. 1, 2) and on the other hand can be pulled out to the rear through a tailgate by means of an extension mechanism including the foldable and associated operator seats ( 2 ) ( Fig. 3, 4) when the vehicle ( 8 ) is stationary. 2. Vehicle according to claim 1, characterized in that the foldable seats ( 2 ) are arranged on a separate extension mechanism with regard to built-in equipment. 3. Vehicle according to claim 1 and 2, characterized in that the built-in devices ( 1 ) are protected from the weather in the extended state under an extension tent ( 7 ) which is attached to the rear of the vehicle ( 10 ). 4. Device according to one of claims 1-3, characterized in that the extension mechanism, which moves the built-in devices ( 1 ) and associated seats ( 2 ) from the retracted state in the vehicle ( 8 ) to the extended state outside the vehicle ( 8 ) and vice versa, can be designed manually or by motor with auxiliary power support including an associated control with a storage system. 5. Device according to one of claims 1-4, characterized in that built-in devices and/or associated seats ( 2 ) can be reversibly adjusted in more than one direction in the coordinate system during extension or retraction. 6. Device according to one of the above claims, characterized in that built-in devices ( 3 ) and associated seats ( 6 ), which become accessible after extension of other built-in devices ( 1 ) in the interior of the vehicle, can be adjusted by means of a displacement mechanism in a coordinate system with respect to an optimal position in relation to an operator who operates the device and who takes a seat on the seat.
