Darauf wird der horizontale Meißel 7 wieder ganz zurückverfahren und anschließend wird der vertikale Meißel 9 mittels des hydraulischen Zylinders 10 durch den vertikalen Kanals hindurchgestoßen, wodurch das Abbindeband 4 auf ein Achtel seiner ursprünglichen Länge gefaltet wird. Dabei wird dann auch das Band gleich ganz aus dem vertikalen Kanal 8 herausgeschoben und in den Eisenbahnwagen 18 abgeworfen.
