Abstract
AçO-CARBONO LIGADO E PROCESSO PARA FABRICAR UM AçO-CARBONO LIGADO, TENAZ, RESISTENTE à CORROSãO, DE ALTA RESISTêNCIA". Aços-carbono de elevado desempenho são descritos os quais contêm estruturas de ripa deslocada nas quais as ripas de martensita se alternam com filmes finos de austenita, mas nas quais cada grão de estrutura de ripa deslocada é limitado a uma variante de única microestrutura pela orientação de todos os filmes finos de austenita na mesma direção. Isto é conseguido pelo controle cuidadoso do tamanho de grão para menor do que dez micrómetros. Melhoria adicional no desempenho do aço é alcançada pelo processamento do aço em uma tal maneira que a formação de bainita, perlita, e precipitação de interfase é evitada.
