Abstract
En un proceso para la epoxidación de propeno, que comprende hacer reaccionar de manera continua una alimentación de propeno con peróxido de hidrógeno en presencia de un catalizador de epoxidación en una etapa de reacción, con el uso de propeno en exceso respecto del peróxido de hidrógeno, para proporcionar una mezcla de reacción líquida que comprende propeno sin reaccionar, medidas de seguridad extra causadas por la presencia de la reacción de epoxidación puede evitarse mediante el secado de la mezcla de reacción líquida de la etapa a) con un gas inerte para proporcionar una mezcla de reacción líquida secada desprovista de oxígeno y un chorro de gas seco, seleccionar la cantidad de gas inerte para proporcionar una concentración de oxígeno en el chorro de gas seco en el rango de desde 0,1 hasta 10% en peso, separar el propeno sin reaccionar del chorro de gas seco y reciclarlo a la etapa de reacción, y separar el óxido de propeno de la mezcla de reacción líquida secada.
