Abstract

La presente se refiere a un sistema y método para separar partículas sólidas de un fluido. La presente suele ser utilizada en estrecha relación con un pozo productor de hidrocarburos. La presente utiliza una combinación de filtración mecánica, decantación de sólidos y fuerzas reales y aparentes. La presente está compuesta por un recipiente esférico con una entrada tangencial para introducir el fluido y un filtro de eliminación de fluido dispuesto en la línea central del interior del recipiente. Una combinación de fluido y partículas sólidas presurizados ingresan en la presente a través de una entrada tangencial y se desplazan principalmente en sentido circular por el interior del recipiente. El recorrido de la combinación de fluido y partículas sólidas en forma circular provoca que las partículas con mayor cantidad de masa se asienten en la parte inferior de los recipientes. Las partículas con menos cantidad de masa pueden quedar retenidas en el flujo de fluido saliente hacia un elemento de filtro, en el cual son eliminadas del fluido saliente. El recipiente cuenta con una abertura para eliminar las partículas atrapadas y separadas.
