Abstract

La presente solicitud se refiere a un gen denominado, en la presente, DSM-2. Este gen se identificó en el Streptomyces coelicolor A3. La proteína DSM-2 está relacionada en forma distante con el PAT y BAR. La presente solicitud además provee genes optimizados de plantas que codifican las proteínas DSM-2. El DSM-2 se puede utilizar como una característica transgénica para impartir tolerancia en plantas y células de plantas a los herbicidas glufosinato y bialafos. Reivindicación 1: Una célula vegetal transgénica aislada, donde la célula comprende una construcción de ácido nucleico que comprende un promotor operativo en una célula vegetal y un polinucleótido que codifica la fosfinotricina acetiltransferasa de SEQ ID Nº 2 unida operativamente al promotor, donde el polinucleótido es de SEQ ID Nº 1 o SEQID Nº 3, donde dicha construcción es un vector de transformación vegetal, caracterizada porque comprende un gen de resistencia a insectos derivado de un organismo seleccionado del grupo integrado por Bacillus thuringiensis, Photorhabdus y Xenorhabdus.
