Abstract
Vehículos para catalizadores que se utilizan como soportes en componentes catalizadores de metal y oxido de metal para usar en una diversidad de reacciones químicas. Más específicamente, la presente proporciona un proceso para formular un vehículo de alfa alumina de baja área superficial que es apropiado como soportes para plata y el uso de dicho catalizador en reacciones químicas. Especialmente la epoxidacion de etileno a oxido de etileno. Un precursor para un soporte de catalizador comprende una mezcla de una alfa alumina y/o una alumina de transicion; un aglutinante; y ya sea un agente de expansion solido que se expande; o impulsa un gas al aplicar suficiente calor, y opcionalmente contiene talco y/o un compuesto de titanio soluble en agua.
