Abstract

Acido nucleico aislado que proviene de una planta o alga y que codifica un polipéptido que alarga los ácidos grasos C16, C18 o C20 con al menos dos enlaces dobles en el ácido graso en al menos dos átomos de carbono. Dicho polipéptido puede alargar los ácidos grasos C16, C18, o C20 con al menos dos enlaces dobles en la molécula del ácido graso, seleccionados del grupo compuesto de a) una secuencia de ácido nucleico representada en ID. DE SEC No.1, ID. DE SEC No. 3, ID. DE SEC No. 5, o ID. DE SEC No. 7; b)una secuencia de ácido nucleico, que segun el codigo genético degenerado proviene de la secuencia representada en ID. DE SEC No. 1, ID. DE SEC No. 3, ID. DE SEC No. 5, o ID. DE SEC No. 7; c) derivados de la secuencia representada ID. DE SEC No. 1, ID. DE SEC No. 3, ID. DE SEC No. 5, o ID. DE SEC No. 7, que codifican para polipéptidos de la secuencia de aminoácido representada en ID. DE SEC No. 2, ID. DE SEC No. 4, ID. DE SEC No. 6, o ID. DE SEC No. 8 y que representan al menos un 50% de homología a nivel de los aminoácidos, sin que se reduzca considerablemente la accion enzimática de los polipéptidos. Constructo génico, que comprende el ácido nucleico aislado descripto. El ácido nucleico que codifica para un gen de la biosíntesis del ácido graso, puede estar seleccionado del grupo delta 19-, delta 17-, delta 15-, delta 12-, delta 9-, delta 8-, delta 6-, delta 5-, delta 4- desaturasa, las diferentes hidroxilasas, la delta 12-acetilenasa, las acil-ACP-tioesterasas, las beta- cetoacil-ACP-sintasas o las beta-cetoacil-ACP-reductasas. Secuencia de aminoácidos, que es codificada por dicha secuencia de ácido nucleico aislada o el constructo génico. Vector que comprende el ácido nucleico o el constructo génico. Organismo que comprende al menos un ácido nucleico, el constructo génico de o el vector anteriormente descriptos. Anticuerpo que une específicamente a un polipéptido que es codificado por uno de los ácidos nucleicos descriptos, molécula de ácido nucleico antisentido que comprendo una secuencia complementaria del ácido nucleico de acuerdo con lo descripto y procedimiento para preparar PUFAs. Aceite, lípidos o ácidos grasos o una fraccion de ellos, producidos mediante este procedimiento y composicion de aceite, lípido o ácido graso que contiene PUFAs y que proviene de plantas transgénicas. Uso de la composicion de aceite, lípido o ácido graso anterior en forrajes, alimentos, cosméticos o productos farmacéuticos y composicion que comprende el anticuerpo, el constructo génico, la molécula de ácido nucleico antisentido, el anticuerpo, un antagonista o agonista identificado, la composicion, la secuencia de aminoácidos y/o aceite, lípidos y/o ácidos grasos o una fraccion de ellos. Procedimiento para identificar un antagonista o agonista de elongasas.
