Abstract

Un proceso para preparar un compuesto de ácido iminodiacético a partir de un compuesto de monoetanolamina que tiene la siguiente formula (1) donde R1es hidrogeno, hidrocarbilo o hidrocarbilo sustituido. El proceso comprende poner en contacto es sustrato de monoetanolamina con una fuente de cianuro y una fuente de fomaldehído para formar un intermediario de monoetanolamina N-cianometilada, y poner en contacto el intermediario de monoetanolamina N-cianometilada con una fuente de hidroxido y un catalizador que contiene metal para formar el compuesto de ácido iminodiacético.
