Abstract

Una composicion de un catalizador, adecuada para uso en la polimerizacion de olefinas, comprende un complejo discreto de un metal, que tiene ligandosquelantes que comprenden por lo menos un átomo seleccionado de O, S, N y P unido directamenteal metal. Los complejos se usan en presencia de ácidos deLewis y pueden ser ejemplificados por complejos de bis (ciclopentadienil) zirconio. Ligandos quelantes típicos incluyen acetilacetonato y los complejostienen la ventaja particular de no requerir activadores tradicionales, como MAO. Los complejos discretos que comprende la composicion son de la formula(L)pMYnXmZq, en la que: L es un ligando que permanece unido a M en las condiciones de polimerizacion de olefinas, M es unelemento del grupo III-A oun metal de transicion del grupo III-B, IV-B, V-B, VI-B u VIII (version CAS de la Tabla Periodica, Cotton & Wilkinson, 5* edicion); Y es un ligando quelanteque comprende por lo menos un átomo seleccionado de O, S, N y P unido directamente a M; X es igual que Y o se elige del grupo formado por hidruro,hidrocarbilo, hidrocarbilo sustituido, haluro, perclorato, sulfonato sustituido, trifluorometanosulfonato, metanosulfonato, fluorofosfato,arilsulfonato, bis (trifluorometilsulfonil) metilo, bis(trifluorometilsulfonil) bencilo, bis (trifluorometilsulfonil)amido, alcoxido, tetraalquilborato,tetrafenilborato, tetrafenilborato sustituido, tetrakis (pentafluorofenil) borato, tetrakis [bis(3,5-ditrifluorometil)fenil]borato, tetrafluoroborato,hexafluorofosfato o pentafluorotelurato; Z es una base neutra de Lewis, N >/=1, P >/=1, M >/=0 y, Q >/=0, con la condicion de que n, m, p y q sean cero onumeros enteros que satisfagan la valencia del metaly, (B) uno o más ácidos de Lewis.
