Abstract

Plastic bag is produced by heat sealing one of the open ends of a film tube perpendicular to the lengthwise axis of the tube, and forming a perforated tear line through both bag walls directly within and parallel with the welded seam over the complete bag width. Used for packaging products such as potatoes. The perforations enable the air to escape from the bag after the bag is filled, and its open end heat sealed. The filled bags can thus be more easily stacked. The bag can also be easily opened by tearing along the perforations.
