Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a una planta de pimiento (Capsicum annuum) que produce frutos con un nivel Brix aumentado, en donde la planta de pimiento comprende un QTL, que cuando está presente lleva a frutos de pimiento con un nivel Brix aumentado, y en donde tal QTL es similar a, o en particular el mismo que el QTL presente en el genoma de plantas cultivadas de la semilla que se depositó en la NCIMB bajo el número NCIMB 42139, y en donde tal QTL está enlazado a al menos un marcador seleccionado del grupo de SEC ID NO:1, SEC ID NO:3, SEC ID NO:5, y SEC ID NO:7 y en donde el QTL está preferiblemente homocigotamente presente.
