Abstract
La invención se refiere a la producción microbiana de terpenos. Los métodos conocidos para la producción microbiana de terpenos se realizan principalmente en función de la conversión directa de azúcares. Por lo tanto, los sustratos alternativos, en particular, las fuentes de carbono alternativas para su uso en la producción microbiana de terpenos eran deseables. La invención se refiere a una bacteria metilotrófica que contiene ADN recombinante que codifica al menos un polipéptido con actividad enzimática para la expresión heteróloga en dicha bacteria, en donde al menos dicho polipéptido con actividad enzimática se selecciona del grupo que consiste en una enzima de una vía del mevalonato heteróloga, una terpeno sintasa heteróloga y, en forma opcional, una sintasa heteróloga de un precursor de prenil difosfato. La invención se refiere además, en particular, a un método para la síntesis microbiana de novo de sesquiterpenos o diterpenos de metanol y/o etanol.
