Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una composición del medio para la producción de toxina botulínica y, más particularmente, a una composición del medio para el cultivo de Clostridium sp. capaz de producir toxina botulínica. La composición del medio de la presente invención comprende una peptona porcina y al menos una peptona derivada de plantas seleccionada del grupo que consiste de un hidrolizado de guisantes, un hidrolizado de semillas de algodón y un hidrolizado de gluten de trigo. Cuando el medio de acuerdo a la presente invención, que contiene peptonas derivadas de plantas y minerales, se utiliza para el cultivo de Clostridium botulinum, la velocidad de crecimiento de la bacteria en el medio es mayor que el de cada uno del medio que está en uso actual y el medio que comprende solo peptonas derivadas de plantas. Además, cuando el medio de la presente invención se utiliza, se puede producir una alta concentración de toxina botulínica cultivando la bacteria de forma segura.
