Abstract

La invención se refiere a un método y a un dispositivo que sirven para producir nitrógeno comprimido mediante la descomposición de aire a baja temperatura en un sistema de columna de destilación que tiene una columna de alta presión, una columna de baja presión, un condensador de cabeza de la columna de alta presión y un condensador de cabeza de la columna de baja presión. Un compresor de aire principal constituye el único compresor de gas accionado mediante energía externa. En el compresor de aire principal el aire fresco se comprime a una presión de aire total que es al menos 5 bar por arriba de la presión de operación de la columna de alta presión. Una primera corriente parcial de la corriente de aire total de alta presión del compresor de aire principal se expande para efectuar trabajo como presión de operación de la columna de alta presión o una presión más alta y se introduce en el sistema de columna de destilación. Una segunda corriente parcial de la corriente de aire total de alta presión se refrigera en un intercambiador de calor principal y se introduce al menos parcialmente en forma líquida dentro del sistema de columna de destilación. Una corriente de nitrógeno comprimido internamente se forma mediante una corriente parcial de la corriente de nitrógeno líquido del condensador de cabeza de la columna de alta presión y/o una corriente parcial de la corriente de nitrógeno líquido del condensador de cabeza de la columna de baja presión; la corriente de nitrógeno comprimido internamente se lleva en el estado líquido a una presión de producto que es de entre 15 y 100 bar; luego la corriente de nitrógeno internamente comprimido se calienta en el intercambiador de calor principal y luego se extrae como un producto de nitrógeno comprimido gaseoso por debajo de la presión de producto.
