Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método y aparato para obtener un producto de nitrógeno comprimido por fraccionamiento a baja temperatura de aire en un sistema de columna de destilación que tiene una columna de alta presión (10) y una columna de baja presión (11) y un condensador principal (12) y un condensador superior de columna de baja presión (13), ambos de los cuales toman la forma de evaporadores-condensadores. El líquido de los fondos (28, 29) de la columna de baja presión se introduce en el espacio de evaporación del condensador superior de la columna de baja presión (13). El gas formado ahí es descomprimido para ejecutar trabajo como gas residual (30, 31) en una primera turbina de gas residual (33). La energía mecánica generada es usada para accionar un compresor frío (36). Una primera corriente de producto de nitrógeno comprimido (19) es extraída en forma gaseosa a partir de la parte superior de la columna de alta presión (10) y es calentada en el intercambiador de calor principal (8). Una corriente de nitrógeno adicional (37) es extraída en forma gaseosa a partir de la parte superior de la columna de baja presión (11), comprimida en el compresor frío (36) a una presión la cual es al menos igual a la presión de la primera corriente de producto de nitrógeno comprimido (19) cuando es extraída a partir de la columna de alta presión (10), y es después calentada como la segunda corriente de producto de nitrógeno comprimido (38) en el intercambiador de calor principal (8) El compresor frío (36) supera un diferencial de presión el cual es al menos igual a dos tercios de la presión diferencial entre la parte superior de la columna de alta presión (10) y la parte superior de la columna de baja presión (11).
