Abstract

La función inmune de un animal puede ser modulada mediante la administración de una composición que incluye beta glucano. El beta glucano puede ser derivado de Euglena que provee una forma de beta glucano que es diferente de otros organismos, en donde el beta glucano es predominantemente beta-(1,3)-glucano sin ramificar. El beta glucano también puede ser acomplejado con un metal tal como zinc y/o puede ser combinado con un componente alimenticio de animal para formar una composición alimenticia de animal. El uso de tales composiciones puede mejorar el bienestar de un animal y pueden aumentar o aún reemplazar el uso de antibióticos en ciertas circunstancias.
