Abstract
Se proporciona un material de carbono poroso adecuado para incorporacion en filtro de humo para cigarros que tiene un area de superficie BET de al menos 800 m2/g y una estructura de poro que incluye mesoporos y microporos. El volumen de poro (cuando se mide por adsorcion de nitrogeno) es al menos 0.9 cm3/g y desde 15 a 65% del volumen de poro esta en mesoporos. La estrucura de poro del material proporciona una densidad de volumen generalmente menor que 0.5 g/cc. El material puede producirse al carbonizar y activar resinas organicas y puede estar en la forma de perlas para facilidad de manejo.
