a show i had higher hopes for. each episode the budget got a little bit smaller and the pacing got a bit more stretched. they could have comfortably fit the exact same content in 8 episodes had they cut a lot of repeat filler. i dont think the underlying writing was very strong either. a lot of the drama is based on the main character trying to become something humans will talk to. ultimately all of that was a waste of time and didnt really go anywhere, and this is a rare complaint, but id also say that the voicework is also rather bad. while the main character is fine, the black lizard is a character you hear a lot from, and hearing a grown woman say shi shi shi over and over gets old.
this is a story that needs a second pass to be good. like the VN or manga its based on needs a re-write now that the author is hopefully more experienced. waste of a premise, waste of a kumo desu ga clone, disappointing, but the most criminal thing is how each evolution the designs got more generic and ugly. maybe next creature reincarnation show wont be a dud. with hindsight, 4/10 is probably still too generous. feel free to rate it lower, its done a lot to deserve it.
