I really love historical fictions, whether it's books, movies, anime, or manga, and Otoyomegatari (A Bride's Story) is truly one of my favorites.

It's art style, with so much detail, it's characters, so full of life, it's stories, rich in history and local cultures. I really cannot recommend this manga enough, especially if you are a fan of historical fiction.

Being set in Central Asia, it tells a story so often neglected by the main stream, but the depth and breadth of the story telling by Kaoru Mori truly brings a rich culture and history to life, and presents it in a way that is both fascinating and beautiful to read.

My only wish is that I can be around to finish this series, because at the pace that it's being published, it might be another 10 years before we see the conclusion of this story. Though, I am very happy with the story and art, that I am happy to wait patiently for the story to finish, and in some part of me, I don't want this story to end.
