Hatena Illusion didn't seem to know what it wanted to do with it's premise. It's got all these neat ideas about magic and stage performance but it gets bogged down in a bunch of pointless interpersonal drama that doesn't ultimately affect the plot and keeps introducing new ideas before it bothered explaining the last ones. It isn't the worst thing in the world and it's mildly entertaining, but it feels like it just wasted a lot of it's run time. By the time the story starts picking up again it's over, and you're left wondering what the point was of what you just watched. It's a show you can watch and forget about almost instantly. I'm sure that in a few months if you ask me about this show I might be able to tell you vaguely it had something to do with magic, because not much else is going to leave a lasting impact. Average. 7/10
