Don't worry about it, we have all been busy. There was a really bad wildfire in the region I live in during the final weeks of January, and I was on alert mode. My parents have a house in the countryside, and we already had a huge fire in front of us some years ago, and this new one, while not that close, was still too close to be calm.

I remember the important episodes the most. Such as when Ash captured his main team in Kanto, when he released Butterfree, which made me cry, and I still don't know why the studio thought it was a good idea for the main character to release more Pokémon than he caught, the gym battles, though not all of them, and the league. I don't have many memories from Johto except for the battles against Gary and the Blaziken trainer.

Exactly, and that is what makes Rocks so amazing; he was a pirate, he wasn't entirely good, yet he cared. He cared about his family and, to some degree, his crew. They may have conquered the world if the God's Valley incident hadn't happened. I mean, I was also sure he was going to be a horrible person, yet Oda gave us one of the best characters ever; I would argue that more than Vegapunk, Rocks reminded me of Kuma's flashback.

Are you for real? I have never had a Kindle. What else can you tell me about it? Did it have that feature where you could search for a word you didn't know about? Can you download more books on them? Does it work without WiFi?

I've been hunting for the series of Lupin, but I haven't been able to find them all in one place or by the same publishers.

I got curious about who Gary Stu could be. I Googled the name, and I just learned it is a term used for a character who is perfect in everything, hahaha. Thanks a lot for teaching me that. Regarding Oreki, I am still not sure, maybe I will like the anime now that I am an adult, maybe I won't. I will have to give it a try after I finish all the anime I have in mind.

Ugh, I feel your case is far worse hahaha. I cannot imagine how frustrating it has to be to live next to the border, but not close enough for the delivery to arrive at a reasonable cost. I mean, 60 kilometers is nothing.

I know hahaha. English isn't my first language, and I laughed so much reading that horrible name for a final chapter. I mean, The Final End, how didn't the editors care a bit more?

Are you for real?! I am so happy for you. I hope everything goes well on your trip to Asia. Which countries or cities are you interested in visiting? What is your schedule?
Not so much on my end, I am surviving the wildfire season in my country, better known as Summer. I've been spending time with my nephews and recently born niece, and I bought a Switch 2.

You know, it's weird, I've been playing Pokémon since I was a kid, and while I remember watching some episodes, I can't recall too many episodes. I remember liking the Hoenn group a bit more, but even from then, I don't recall too much. I recall more of Digimon Adventure 1.

Exactly, I can understand the feeling, it's like they are giving their baby away, but again, they aren't relinquishing the rights, and they can always be there monitoring how things are going. Yes, the manga community is filled with authors who were the assistants of other authors, hahaha. Still, as you say, it is what it is - if they don't want more help, there is nothing anybody can do.

Honestly, my first idea of Rocks was of a ruthless pirate, that's all - I wasn't expecting to see one of the most amazing characters ever. Regarding Garp, he needed that background more than anyone; he isn't in my top 10 by any means, but I enjoyed seeing him standing up against the world government.

Yeah, if I am reading until late at night, I want it to be from an actual book, not from a paper on my computer. Plus, it's nice to form your own library at home, hahaha. Your reason is also understandable, and if it works for you, then go for it. Do you read Kindle? They caught my attention a bit, especially since I heard you can tap a word to check the meaning.

I am so angry that I missed my chance to buy some books I wanted to read on Black Friday. Don't worry, let me know your opinion once you have the time to read them.

As I said, I don't like too perfect characters who are always right, but if they make mistakes at times, I can make some exceptions. I have a list of anime I want to watch that isn't on my PTW, and with everything you have said about Hyouka, maybe I judged the series too fast.

Yeah, that is one of the saddest parts of the internet. I was able to buy two books that aren't available in my country through Amazon, but even that was a bit expensive. I have checked for some products I am interested in on Amazon and eBay, and I have found quite a few times the message "this product doesn't reach your country".
Oh, don't worry about it. Lupin is still on my list, so I will give it a chance in the order you previously gave me.

That sucks - it's always sad when one of our favorite series, whether books, shows, anime, manga, or movies, starts to be forgotten even by its fandom. I think I found the first five books, but I still need to properly check.

Like, this manga called Jinrou Game is based on a card game about wolves. The end of the first manga was awesome, with a very mean plot twist and an awful title name: The Final End. Still, the story wasn't the best, not to mention the two sequels. Unique, catchy, but still a bit trashy,

Don't worry about it; I also took my time these past few months with my replies. We all have stuff to do in our daily lives, so I can wait.

I hope this message finds you well in this final month of the year :)
Hazbyn Nov 1, 2025 7:09 PM
You are welcome. I hope you had a nice day :)

I grew up watching anime on TV, mainly Digimon, Pokémon, YuYu Hakushou (Though I don't remember much of it), and more because they aired dubbed in my country. That was in the day I thought Anime and Cartoons were the same, hahaha.
I will tell you in my next message how it is going; I've been so busy at work that I haven't had much time to read.

The same can apply to a lot of other authors, including Togashi, the author of HXH; it's not like they are relinquishing every right to their stories, they just need someone who can help with drawing and continue when they can't, that's all. They can monitor how the work is going, give feedback, and explain in detail how things need to be.
At this point, and with how stubborn manga authors can be, there are many stories aside from World Trigger and Hunter x Hunter that won't see their ending. Yet, with how annoying and rude fandoms are these days, they would not like the ending either way hahaha.

I haven't read the latest chapters, but I am aware that the pirates and Garp joined together against Imu, which honestly revindicates his character for me, at least a little; I wasn't expecting for Garp, Roger, Rocks, Newgate, Linlin, and Kaidou to join together against Imu, it makes you think if it is some sort of foreshadowing for the future war.
I think your theory has a lot of chances to turn true; with Garp being the Hero of the Marines, and being known all over the world, it makes sense he is untouchable by the Marines themselves, and that grants some level of protection to the land he came from and the people he care for as long as they weren't too known villains. And it's true, he is insubordinate, but his status allows him to go untouched, and who knows how many people joined the Navy just for him, and now he is retired but still teaches new cadets, which strengthens the fact that WG and he are chained together.
You know, I almost teared up a bit when I saw how loyal Newgate and Kaidou were to Rocks, and even Big Mom, who was doing her thing, went back and helped. They were together solely for personal benefits, but still cared a bit. Interesting how John was the former user of Kid's fruit, which was later used to defeat Big Mom.

Yeah, I have spent so much time reading documents and pages on the internet for school and college that now, when I read for leisure, it has to be on physical books, unless it's manga hahaha.

Yeah, I was surprised too. People claimed And Then There Were None was her weakest book, good, known, but weak. Hahaha, you bought the two of them? I've been wanting to buy Orient Express for a while, but I don't know why it is so expensive. Tell me everything after you finish reading them.

Ugh, I am between two editions that I really like, but I guess I will have to risk it. Or ask ChatGPT, whatever happens first.

Huh, so Oreki isn't always right. Maybe I judged Hyouka too soon. I will consider giving the series a second chance in the future.

Nice, thanks for taking the time to explain; if the stories are standalone, then that is a bit of a relief at the moment of looking them up on different sites.
I already found the first three on a site I regularly use to buy my books; thanks a lot for the recommendation. I will add them to my wishlist, they look really interesting.
I already added them all to my list, but I cannot lie and say that the Amazon box set is appealing, hahaha. Unfortunately, while Amazon has reached my country, it is quite expensive.

Really? That sounds depressing and weird as well. Why wouldn't they translate those books? I am sure the editorial and the descendants of the author would benefit. Unfortunately, I don't know German hahaha; I am from Chile, my native language is Spanish.

Survival Game/ Killing Game can be really trashy and bad, that's not up for debate, hahaha, but they can be so interesting, especially when the story is coming to an end and the authors try to make everything fall into place.

I Googled Earthsea again, and I noticed there is a miniseries as well.

I read your message wrong at first and thought otters were also enemies hahaha; I can see rats and foxes as enemies, but ferrets?
I love it when you can tell from a series how much effort and heart the author put into it; the careful design and writing are undeniable.
Ryuji_Togashi Oct 17, 2025 12:42 PM
You're welcome! I hope you had a spectacular birthday!
Hazbyn Oct 12, 2025 9:03 PM
I know it's quite late, but I want to wish you a Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you had a fantastic day, and many more years to come :)

Steins; Gate aired in my country some years ago, but because of my schedule, I wasn't able to catch up with it. I am aware it starts a bit slow, but it gets awesome in no time. While I am aware of certain topics, this is the first time I have heard that it is the most realistic regarding the concept of time travel. Good to know.
I remember you mentioned Psyche Matashitemo before, and it did sound interesting. Moreover, the powers of other characters are indeed quite interesting and unique. I've been quite lazy with manga this year, like, a month ago I started Oyasumi Punpum, and I am only on chapter 3. I will try to read Psyche Matashitemo.

Why do you say Ashihara should pass the torch? I know the manga has had some hiatus, but to the point of the author needing to retire? Still, I only wish Japanese authors would just train someone to write manga in their absence. Like, you don't need to leave them all the secrets and how the story is going to end, just the basics and an indication for the chapters.

Watching Whitebeard being loyal to Rocks in such a dire situation was so wholesome, and also depressing when you remember the son of his captain killed him. Oda is giving a lot in God Valley.
At this point, I don't expect anything from Garp. You cannot call yourself a hero when you turn a blind eye to slavery, torture, and human hunting.

I am sure the site I used to read manga must have had Please, Save My Earth, but after it was taken down and revived, you cannot find anything without a thousand ads popping up. Sme with Petshopof Horrors.
Webcentral, I already wrote the name down.

To be honest, I don't like reading from my computer. I don't have any issues reading manga online, but I cannot get used to reading books from the screen. I prefer to spend a little bit and buy the books that caught my attention. I want to read Narnia in physical books since I am sure I will love the series.

Interestingly, the most hardcore Agatha Christie fans say that while And Then There Were None was her most famous book, it was also the weakest. Many cite Murder on the Orient Express as the best book she ever wrote.
I have never heard of Treasure Island, but I already added it to my wishlist. I found a copy that looks beautiful. I will give myself some nice gifts on Christmas, hahaha. How many pages does the book have? Out of curiosity, I looked it up, and some sites said 128 and others 336, like, that is a huge difference.

Yeah, I am aware of Hyouka. I am not going to lie, I watched the first episode of Hyouka years ago, and I heard both opening songs, which are excellent, but I am not a fan of characters who are always smart and right, better known as perfect, such as Oreki, which was the impression he gave me. How would you describe the novels?
I have vague knowledge of Arsene Lupin, thanks for reminding me of the name. How many books are in the series? While I mentioned I am not particularly fond of too smart characters, I cannot deny the charm of a Gentleman thief. I will give them a chance. What is the first book of the series? Is there an order to read them, or are they stand-alone books?
Also, I forgot to mention, but if there is another genre I particularly enjoy, it is survival game/killing game; I know it can be trashy, but there is something so charming about them, hahaha.

I am sure I read somewhere about Earthsea, but I don't remember where exactly. I don't have many issues with slow series, so I will read the plot first to see if it catches my attention.
Redwall sounds like a good series, to be honest. Are their enemies also the same woodland animals, or are they other species? As long as it has a heart, that is all that matters to me. Are you for real? The books were written for blind children? That sounds so nice, I will add them to my wishlist as well. I usually love lots of descriptions of places and powers to say something.

Don't get me wrong, at times I do recognize when characters sound similar to the ones from other anime, but I don't know many voice actors. With that being said, I do feel a good or bad VA can be the win or defeat of an anime. I am sure Asta's VA needed a cup of water after every yelling every sentence. I feel his voice actor was spot on; it suited the character, but I understand what you are saying; there are some voices that grew on me, which I didn't like at first.

Out of curiosity, I would like to hear your time-traveling recommendations. Maybe it will give me fresh ideas for when I am on a burnout.

I know! I would like to know the relationships between the Old Border characters, and if they all die in a mission or at different points. By how the Neighbour universe was portrayed, with so detailed worlds, I feel we will have many arcs in the future.
Sadly, I feel that it is impossible; Japanese authors seem completely against the idea of others taking the drawing from them. Like, there are so many good manga on extended hiatus because of the author's health issues. If only they had trained someone to replace them at times, things could be so different nowadays. Unfortunately, the chances appear too slim.

I don't tend to watch movies very often, but I will definitely watch the Yoshiwara in Flames movie. One of the best arcs ever.

That's exactly the issue; I don't want to judge or discriminate against age, but there is a point where they will look too old for the characters. The hype at some point may decrease, and it will be a pity considering how into the project everyone is. Waiting too long is the worst they can do.

I swear I didn't see that clan name reveal, but it was so good; I am a Rocks Pirates fan, I stand them. Watching such a vulnerable-looking Blackbeard wasn't on my predictions at all. I swear, every time I think the Celestial Dragons cannot be any worse, they surpass themselves; Figarland Garling is plainly awful.

Hahaha, I think that happened to me with the game of Octopath Traveler; I am currently playing it, but I don't know anything about it aside from the fact that I need to complete all the routes.
As I said in my past message, I don't mind spoilers, so if you want to talk about a manga, anime, game, book, or whatever, don't feel afraid of giving spoilers, especially if they are good ones. I ask because by accident I spoiled a manga for another person.

I was all in to read Please Save My Earth, it was interesting the way you explained it, and I also like how it falls into that category of manga and anime which has names that sound really deep, like From The New World, Beyond the Boundary, and many others hahaha, but I haven't been able to find a site that has the full manga translated. Did you find it complete somewhere? I checked several websites, and I haven't had much luck.

Since English isn't my first language, I am a bit on the fence with reading Narnia in its native language, mainly because it was written in the mid-20th Century, so its English has to be a bit old, and is also British English, one of the hardest in my opinion. Still, I will read it in my language when I find the complete collection.

Same here, I also don't read as much as I used to; I've been a bit tired lately, but I have some books lined up for when the sparkle returns hahaha. I don't think I have a favorite genre; I like reading whatever catches my attention. Like, the books I have enjoyed the most so far have to be And There Were None by Agatha Christie, Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins, The Infernal Devices, which were a trilogy book series prequel of The Shadowhunters, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. I have some that I didn't particularly enjoy in my collection as well, such as The Guest List by Lucy Foley and The Final Girls Support Group by Grady Hendrix. If I have to choose a genre, though, maybe mystery and thriller, but the kind that is a bit more human, instead of the culprit being a ghost or an alien.
I don't think I have read many medieval books with swords and sorcery. Which books do you recommend?
Hazbyn Sep 7, 2025 2:03 PM
You know, while several clips from lots of anime have appeared on my social media feed, Re: Zero is one that has never appeared; I don't know how Subaru sounds, but I do agree that a "wrong" VA can kill characters or make them unlikable. I mean, for instance, I love the manga of Mission Yozakura Family, but the anime Taiyou was unbearable for me; his voice was so annoying.
I haven't watched or read many time-traveling stories; I read one in manga that rushed the ending, and Tokyo Revengers... Still, I think you are right, there must be some better series, the thing is to find them.

Yeah, I remember they were given a survey over which Border agents they would not like to work with, they were paired with them, and were left inside rooms; then, they started a game like simulation were Osamu's group got destroyed every time, he made a deal with Katori over Karasuma's number or a date, and she then took it seriously. Like, every team was having issues, Tsuji was barely able to talk with the girls of his team, Shiki the same, but with the boys, Kageura wanted to fight Inukai, etc...
I might resume the manga one of these days; I want to see what they are up to now. I would love to see an arc for Old Border and what happened to them. I feel the author is going in the long run, so I hope it works out for him.

Tsukuyou was amazing, her debut in Yoshiwara in Flames arc (I love everything, especially how she stood her ground against the other Hyakka members. I would love a Gintama rewatch as well, since there are several aspects from the series I can't remember, but it would be so time-consuming.
By the way, did you see that Yoshiwara in Flames is receiving a movie adaptation? I was so happy when I saw that, it makes much more sense than the Kintama arc movie.

People are already complaining about waiting two or three years between eight-episode seasons, and if it continues like that, the cast will grow too old even for Timeskip. Hopefully, they would think things properly; Arabasta and Skypiea are long arcs, so they need shortcuts in the long run. Plus, movies for Impel Down and Marineford would work well, in my opinion.

I mean, I am a fan of Rocks at the moment; overthrowing the World Government and Imu are stuff we all want to see. I appreciate how his crew is barbaric and selfish, the very definition of pirates. With the current chapters, I am sure we are reaching something awesome and revealing.

That's true; she experienced happiness alongside all the people she met along the way, made peace with her mom and brother, and decided to own up. She was indeed brave. I think this ambiguous finale was the best option.

Oh, don't worry, I don't mind spoilers; I avoid giving them because I know some people really hate them, so let me know that's the case to avoid spoilers in future conversations.
Please, Save My Earth does sound quite interesting indeed; I know about Sailor Moon, I watched some episodes, and it's interesting to learn that the author got inspired by PSME to write her manga. I am going to give it a chance since there is something captivating about it. I love titles that sound deep, and I love when there are so many main characters in a story.

I just love it when someone takes their time to translate stories into other languages for everyone to read them; knowledge is universal, as it is said.
I am planning to buy The Chronicles of Narnia books since they have always caught my attention; I take my time while reading books, and my collection just keeps growing, but I will buy the books at some point. I know one of the latest novels released is like a prequel or something, and also that Susan's faith is widely debated due to what happens in the end; I am highly spoiled on the series, but still eager to read them hahaha.
Do you like reading?
Hazbyn Aug 31, 2025 9:28 PM
To be honest, Subaru never gave me the loud type; I am familiar with loud characters, I guess his design misled me. Re: Zero never sparked much curiosity in me, but I am interested in how each season is like another route from the story. Maybe one day I will give it a chance.

The fact that all characters introduced during the Rank Wars felt so important and were so varied and different showed how much Ashihara thought about them. I believe you when you say he detailed each single one of their backgrounds since I remember seeing a post detailing every single one of them; birthdays, likes and dislikes, hobbies, schools, who were classmates, and more.
I decided to take a break from World Trigger some years ago to wait for the chapters. How is the arc doing? Were the characters selected already for the mission? The teams were so messy, hahaha.

I just love Tsukuyou and Gintoki together; they have so much chemistry. I could also pick Tae since she is hilarious and can blend well in any arc. Okita is indeed a jerk, no arguing back on that hahaha, but it is enjoyable when he is on screen. Plus, that rollercoaster scene when he showed his true self was so enjoyable.

I hope the second season does well since there is so much I want to see animated; the giants of Little Garden looked convincing in the trailer, and that makes me think the CGI can be good if someday they reach Wano. Maybe they can produce the Impel Down arc and Marineford arc as separate movies.
Kuma has to be the best father ever in the history of anime. He had every reason to become a villain, and throughout his life, he should have been nice; in any other shounen, he would have been targeted and defeated.
The Rocks Pirates flashback has been so good! I know we are supposed to dislike them, but I love them; he wants to overthrow the Celestial Dragons, and I support him. There is more to his defeat than only Garp and Roger teaming up; with a crew like that, there was another party involved.

I think I get you on that; ambiguity can work well several times, just like in The Bones of an Invisible Person. As you say, Aya in the end realized she wasn't alone, she made some friends, and talked heart-to-heart with her mom and brother. I still think she would not be acquitted, as there is no believable way someone would believe a teenager would become invisible to kill her dad. Maybe she would be sent somewhere or would need to learn how to live with what she did. It was such an amazing manga.

I want to ask you something, how would you describe Please Save My Earth? It is one of those manga I have known for ages; like, I don't know when I found it, but I like the title.
Also, I didn't know The Chronicles of Narnia was turned into a manga. I am quite surprised.
Hazbyn Aug 10, 2025 11:21 PM
I am doing fine, thanks for asking :)
He looks quite interesting, and cute and sweet at first glance, but I cannot comment until I read. I have been stagnated with my manga readings, and while time traveling isn't my favorite super power, the ones I have read that contained it have been very enjoyable.
I haven't watched Re: Zero, and while I have heard a lot about it, this is the first time I've heard he is loud; I only know he gets killed in violent ways at times.

Absolutely! The B-Rank Wars arc was so enjoyable, the manga chapter in which Chika destroys half the mall will forever be one of my favorite moments. The anime did such a splendid job during the battle between Ninomiya and Yuba. What's more, there were so many characters introduced, yet it never felt overstuffed, they all had their time to shine, they didn't feel forced, and each design was unique and impossible to mistake. The author truly overdid himself; no wonder he needs to take time off at times.
I haven't watched Kingdom yet to say something, and I don't remember much of Hunter x Hunter either; I watched the 2011 version some years ago, but I do recall there were some scenes with easy-to-follow strategy. Though I agree there aren't many like that anymore, they focus on strategy and plans, or tend to be overlooked.

One of my favorite episodes was the Inugami-arc, it happened in like two episodes, but it was so hilarious, there wasn't a moment without something happening; I wish Ane and Mone appeared a bit more, they had a great chemistry with the Yorozuya.
It is so long, it consumes quite some time to watch it, and while reluctant, maybe someday I will rewatch it; it is hard not to hesitate.
My favorite characters were Gintoki, Tsukuyo, and Okita; Gintoki is an amazing main character, a great balance between serious and comical. Tsukuyo was a nice addition to the cast, and I was rooting for Gintoki and her. Okita can be an asshole sometimes, but he is so funny, and I like how well he gets along with Gintoki, as well as his rivalry with Kagura.

I will be positive that somehow I will be able to catch up hahaha; I am currently watching it on Netflix. I still need to finish the Live Action. I only watched the first episode, and I enjoyed it more than I expected.
A friend and I talked every week when a new chapter of Egghead appeared. I always said that it is funny how an arc with such a funny name was one of the most emotional, chaotic, and filled with information. Kuma's past destroyed me, especially knowing he was himself the whole time and helped the Strawhats. It was such a phenomenal arc. I am eager for more hahaha, and I understand, since it is clear we are finally getting more answers after Elbaph. I want to see what's coming, but the Rocks Pirates' past is being so addictive.

The Bones of an Invisible Person was a nice surprise, I enjoyed it a lot, and was glued to the screen waiting for updates. I would not mind an extra chapter to know what happened to Aya. I mean, she killed her father in the light of day, in a public place, and I don't know how she would explain everything.
Hazbyn Aug 2, 2025 12:56 AM
Hi! Nice to meet you; thanks for accepting my friend request, it is a pleasure to meet you :)
How are you doing?

I like your profile picture. Who is that character?

It's nice to see World Trigger in your favorite anime; I feel it is one of the most underrated anime ever. The concept is so good, there are a lot of characters, and it is easy to differentiate them, and it has an amazing soundtrack. The studio did a superb job with seasons 2 and 3.
Gintama is also one of my favorite anime ever, and at times I want to rewatch it from the very beginning. Some people claimed it was good from the Benizakura arc, but in episode 7, I was already hooked.

One Piece is getting so epic with the latest arc, I started to watch the anime on Netflix while waiting for newer chapters.

ty for making the battle shonen stack. most of the stuff in there's pretty cool and you put moonlight act in so that's goated.
only criticism that i have is that you put grappler baki in the second stack, even though you said that martial arts didn't classify for it?
