The director did a great job at showing what a realistic fight between two children is like. This made the whole show and the relationship between the characters more real to me. While it may be irritating to some, I see it as watching a kid make friends for the first time and it was funny to watch and see how they attempt at it.
I was first drawn to the artwork. There was so much expression on each character and I personally like the style.
I also enjoyed the storyline quite a bit. I never got bored and had parts that made me burst out

The entire series is very entertaining to someone who knows very little about medicine, but if you know a lot about science and doctor stuff, then you may think it's ridiculous since there are a lot of supernatural diseases and made up cures, but still, I believe you can enjoy it.
If you're unfamiliar with blackjack, this OVA is a good introduction. It has a very serious, dark art style. Each episode left me feeling something, and I don't think I was bored at all. Personally, I had a great time watching this OVA series of Black Jack. This may be the best so far.

I think this manga are only for mature readers because there's quite a lot of rape and gore which might be too much to some people.
I give it a 9 overall because of the unique art style and the story because it's really different from the other manga that I've read in the past. I've never read a manga that's as dark as this. From the gore to the rape and drug abuse. |
