Jou!
Fellow from Northern Europe who has since early days liked anime.
My first intoductions to anime were with Silver Fang (Ginga: Nageboroshi Gin), Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z. I was around 8 at the time.
First manga I ever read was Dragon Ball, which my father bought me because he knew I liked the TV-show. He saw volumes 1-4 in store and bought them for me. Now I own the whole series. So you could say my experience to this world was started both ways by DB.
I came here to meet people alike, who are seeking new anime and manga to enjoy and experience.
Thank you!

I´m most pleased with my outcome this time, because for first time ever my main team holds all the members in the TOP 10 -list!
1st was My Hero Academia - Final season delivered most welcome and successful end to the long running and well loved series. Waiting for that OVA, the REAL ending!
2nd was May I ask for One Final Thing? - Broke bones and expectations by crushing it´s competition with gentlest fists in the kingdom. May I ask for more?
6th was Ranma ½ Season 2 - Literally games with Cats and Mousse as dysfunctional couple takes on even more eccentric rivals in love. This is the kind of remastered edition I LOVE to see!
7th was Uma Musume: Cinderella Grey season 2 - Horsegirls are taking over the world and I don´t mind that at all! Some of the best sports drama you have seen for the longest of times!
10th was Sanda - Veeeery messed up version of Santa Claus and the society he lives in. Those mad men at "Science SARU" -studios are cooking hotter than "Food Wars"! Can´t wait to hear more from them.
Honourable mentions:
"Spy x Family" had a solid season 3 with crazy adventurous and funny moments to spare.
"Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider" is just absolutely crazy mother*****r of a show! Bulky men and busty women having an all out bloodstained war with each other about a show from the 70´s. It´s so insane it almost makes sense!
And for my fellow Rom-Com lover: "Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Oota", "Mechanical Marie" and "Li´l Miss Vampire Can´t Suck Right" are there for your low blood pressure moments.
Special note for "Solo Camping for Two" and it´s soul healing and campy atmosphere. 24 episodes of relaxing camp fires might be just for you.
However there is no time to rest! "Frieren", "Jujutsu Kaisen", "Vigilantes","Trigun" and many more are making their comeback in just matter of days! Finish what you have left on your plate for there might not be enough room later!
Thank you all for reading and happy New Years! 2026! LET´S GO!
O´me lord what a summer we had you guys when so many popular shows made back to us! Truly a season of sequals. "DanDaDan", "My Dress-up Darling", "Kaiju No. 8", "Sakamoto Days", "Grand Blue", "Dr. Stone", "7th Prince (too long title)" and "Call of the Night" were worth the wait and brought enjoyment to our screens in all sizes. Or so I hope for as we all know, second season might have problems to live up to the same level of hype as the season before. However! That´s each ones own thing to decide, but yours truly enjoyed himself.
This year my score was not the greatest, but we had so many great shows out there it was everyones game. "Fragnant Flower Blooms With Dignity" absolutetly dominated with its nro 1 spot and over 230 000 pts before the second comer "Gachiakuta". I really have to check that rom-com now, I´m ashamed to have missed it.
I got spots 5, 10, 12, 15 and 40. Those vacants went to "Sakamoto Days - Part 2", "7th Prince - season 2", "New Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt", "Ruri Rocks" and "The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses".
In case you are looking for something to watch with nothing dramatic going on you might be interested in good-to-know informative shows like "Solo Camping for Two" with all kinds of good advice about camping or "Ruri Rocks" where cute girls study geology.
Summer is time for romance and o´boy we had them plenty. "Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze" with one guy and three sisters, "There´s No Freaking Way I´ll be Your Lover! Unless..." where girls love is a battlefield, "Cultural Exchange With a Game Centre Girl" where young girls love is not a game (everything else is), "Bad Girl" where girls just wanna have fun and "April Showers Bring May Flowers" where looks are not everything. I enjoyed them with different reasons and sometimes I was even positively surprised.
Finally, the ones you should have on your radar. Perhaps for a rainy day. "The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses" with a shy and bulky hero and three femme fatales travel together, whilst the princesses try to kill the hero. So ridiculous idea it actually works pretty well. Looking for season 2! "Uglymug, Epicfighter" surprised me with it´s great humour, decently smooth fights and good characters. "See you tomorrow at the Food Court" might be a gem that just needs a bit more time to be discovered for it´s humor, dialogue and voice-acting are absolutely fantastic.
"Anne Shirley" ended it´s drama with a good note and I felt my heart just that much more happy and sad at the same time. "Witch Watch" is nearly ending and that was a good funny run with it.
It is time to put more clothes on and welcome this Fall. Though next season seems to bring some serious heat to keep us warm.
That´s it for now, thank you for reading!
So far this has been my best FAL season, for my active choices snatched places 2-6! From second to sixth place were "Lazarus", "Witch Watch", "Vigilante: Boku no Hero Illegals", "Kowloon Generic Romance" and "Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru". I ranked 6639th. The game is tough.
Unfotunately I only watched the first episode of Lazarus, but it just didn´t do it for me despite the hype. The other ones I did enjoy through and through.
Witch Watch still continues and I recommend it to you other rom-com fans out there. There is magic in the air... sorry, I had to.
"Vigilante" does well looking into the smaller scale of things in the streets, where not all the heroes are professionals. Good action and good character designs. I recommend.
"Kowloon Generic Romance" apparently aimed to put everything the manga has into 13 episodes. Did it succeed depends if you like fast paced mature human drama with sci-fi elements and mysteries of small alleys. Very interesting, not for everyone.
"Katainaka" had good voice acting and interesting story. Especially men over 30 will find joy in this one.
Honorable mentions and high recommends! Ladies rock your mind, soul and heart in "Rock is a Lady´s Modesty" and makes you their fan. "Apocalypse Hotel" serves you one of the best anime originals we have witnessed in a while. "Anne Shirley" is the one you go, for this remake is probably the one the author always wanted to see.
And there you have it! Now all we have left is to make enough time for our schedules so we can enjoy everything this summer is about to give us. There is a lot. I don´t know if I´m mentally ready, but let´s do this anyway!
See you after summer!
Top-Tier: "Apothecary Diaries" season 2, Solo Leveling season 2, "Blue Box" (Ao no Hako) final half of the first season, "My Happy Marriage" season 2, "100 girlfriends" season 2, "Dragon Ball Daima" final half and "Shangri-La Frontier" season 2 final half continued their strong journeys and lead us with a great start for this year. If you skipped them this time do your future self a favor and put them on your "plan to watch" -list.
Good new-comers: "Medalist" delivered a great new sports anime on figure skating along with interesting characters, great animation (including good looking CGI) and surprisingly captivating story. I´m quite tempted to continue with the manga.
Other notable mentions were goofy and over-the-top-energy fueled "Red Ranger Isekai" (I´m NOT writing it´s full name), information heavy Okinawan based rom-com "Okitsura", very mature and real feeling romance ""I have a crush at work" and pastel-colored rom-com "Medaka Kuroiwa is impervious to My Charms". "Sakamoto Days" divided opinions, but I personally really liked it, animation and all.
"I´m getting married to a girl I Hate In My Class" and "Guild Receptionist" (again with the NAME!) were honestly rather disappointing. The marriage one had very superficial character developments and it did very little to advance the story. The whole show was like Kate Perry´s "Hot ´n Cold", leaving me shivering a bit.
But MY GOD with the "Guild Receptionist"! It had all the potential to be up there high in the rankingis only to lose it´s way after TWO episodes! Great intro, fascinating story about a double-life living guild receptionist who secretly solo-kills dungeon bosses out of frustration and who wants to live easy life. Also Rie Takahashi is the main character. Sounds great! Except that the secret of the main character is discovered in less than two episodes, we see nothing as great as the intro promised and 75% of the show is hearing miss Takahashi giving all kinds of different versions of complains regarding overwork... The disappointment felt like my heart was crushed with a giant sized hammer.
"Zenshuu" was dividing me quite a lot. I only found real interest in it at the last 4 episodes (out of 12) but they were quite important episodes for the whole show. Good finish, but I was kinda expecting something different from an anime about a director with a writer´s block and stressload the size of a large desert. I can´t say yet if I liked it or not. It was decent show to watch but I don´t feel like re-watching it.
Thank you for reading and onwards to the Spring!
TOP 10 - 2024
1. Sousou no Frieren - Frieren: Beyond jouney´s end
2. Kusuriya no Hitorigoto - The Apothecary Diaries
3. DanDaDan
4. Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu Season 2 - The Dangers in My Heart season 2
5. Kaijuu 8-gou - Kaiju No 8
6. Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen - Soukoku-tan or Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Conflict
7. Shangri-La Frontier
8. Ranma ½
9, Dungeon Meshi - Delicious in the Dungeon
10. Shinigami Bocchan to Kuro Maid season 3 - The Duke of Death and His Maid season 3
Special shout-outs to Konosuba season 3 and Giji Harem!
And there you have it! Mostly seems pretty obvious but I think I managed to put a surprise or two in there. Anyway, enjoy your screentime and once again, Happy New Year!
Let´s start with results as my main group took:
1st place: Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen - Soukoku tan (Thousand-Year Blood War - The Conflict). No surprise here, but to be honest the first half was pretty much waiting around. We were rewarded with great fights on the latter half, but I think we are all at our limits waiting for Yoruichi´s power-up. Still on hold, sadly. Points for Captain Commander Kyoraku´s fight. What a feast!
4th palce: Shangri-la Frontier second season. Kicking it up a notch and not stopping! Story keeps steadily progressing, fights get more bravado AND I still find "Sunraku" a very likeable mc. Hell, if this keeps up SLF might even challenge first place with upcoming seasons!
5th place Ranma½ (2024). WHAT A NOSTALGIC COMEBACK! Were true to it´s original story, original cast cameback and fight are looking as they should, meaning they are a feast to an eye! This is how you make a remastered version and I hope they keep up the good work.
7th place Dragon Ball Kaima. I think we need to go back to early days of Dragon ball to remember that there can be an actual story involved and not just jumping around from fight to fight. Very funny story with a hint of nostalgia seeing the gang back together hunting down Dragon balls as kids, not like in GT but in the early days when Goku and Bulma had just meat. Character and world desings are very Akira Toriyama and I can´t stop smiling with this succesful continuation of the beloved series. RIP Toriyama-sensei, they are honoring your legacy.
13th place Raise Wa Tanin ga Ii (Yakuza´s fiance). This is a something that surpised me positively. All the characters are one way or the other messed up and you don´t really know who to root for. Romance anime with fists or something, I don´t know. All I care for is to see how things will go in the future for this was very entertaining drama in ages. Definetly a good option if you are looking for a story with not so helpless damsel and not-even-close a knight in a shining armour.
Fairy tail 100 year quest first season ended after covering so much from the original source. Job well done, we will wait Lucy and the rest continue after well deserved rest.
Lastly before ending for now I to implore you to give "DanDaDan" a change for at least 4 episodes. You will either like it or (unlikely) hate it. The animation, voice acting and a couple of leads that gave me this stong feeling of 80-90´s dub-comedies were two very different individuals have to work together to solve problems, was nothing if not greatest enjoyment I had this year. I´m not going to details but definetly on my 2024 best anime of the year TOP 10 -list.
Happy New Year! 2025 bring it on!
We had some heavy hitters like Oshi no Ko´s second season, Make Heroine ga Oosugiru, Tensei shitara Slime datta Ken 3rd season and My Hero Academia´s season 7. These heavy-weights showed us yet again roller coaster of emotions and excitement we all love and enjoy, special note towards Make Heroine ga Oosugiru, which as a romantic comedy felt leaning more towards drama than giving us laughs but my god was it pretty to watch!
One Piece has now taken a break but not before leaving as ashore to wait for it´s return with epic fights and a most lovely fan letter (currently 2nd place in MAOL). Let´s wish their animators some easy days while recovering. Remember your animators folks, they are our treasure!
We also had a surprisingly lovely show as "Giji Harem" made it´s appearance. Very much soul-healing and relaxing to watch whilst all these other shows were out there. Good to have these among us.
"Alya sometimes hides her feelings in Russian" was defienetly a love-comedy worth to watch and left us yearn for more. Some might say because of the certain best girl, but... I´m not disagreeing!
Nier Automata part 2 was holding us tight at the end making me want to replay the game again. For the man kind!
Fairy Tail 100-nen Quest continues Lucy´s, Natsu´s anf d others adventures with new animation style and still keeping us entertained. "The Ossan newbie adventurer" continues the idea that 30-year old "granpas" can still go to adventures and I enjoyed the heck of it.
Suicide squad... it´s either hit or miss. I liked it, but I believe they could have gotten more out of it.
Then we had things like... Plus-Sized Elf... ... let´s move on...
Shout out to Murai no Koi, which looks like a child from day-care center draw, but is hugely entertaining. This if anything either works for you or doesn´t. And to me, it worked.
So there in short! I also watched some older animes, but maybe I talk about them next time. Today I only wanted shortly to go through what was going on. For my shame I didn´t watch Monogatari ´cause I´m not familiar with the series but I have it behind my ear. I also just started to rewatch Kimi no Todoke so I can watch the 3rd season.
Thank you all and keep on watching!
(Most waited in Fall: Dandadan, Dragon Ball Daima, Bleach and Ranma)
Now don´t get me wrong! Kaijuu 8-gou (Kaiju No. 8) dominated this season with monstrous strength, having stunning animation, absolutely thrilling action and memorable characters whilst having a good story to make it last to the finish and then some. Must check of the season!
We were also blessed with a new season of Konosuba and it´s wonderful humor! It was good to see the no-good-band back to together.
Shout out to "7th Prince" isekai, about magic-obsessed boy (?) who offered us some visually absolutely stunning animation. Thank you animators! You certainly brought your magic here! ... ... and waifus... ah, my maiden Sylpha!
Special shout out to Sentai Daishikkaku (Go! Go! Loser Ranger!) with it´s own "The BOYS" like looking into the hero world from the eyes of a monster. Sometimes slow paced but over-all refreshing look into the darker world of Ranger Guardians.
Regardless I´m afraid yours truly didn´t really get anything else too memorable out of this season. Much isekais and renewed seasons, few new try-outs too but even then some just could not hold it till the end. Sad example comes with the name "Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi" (Mysterious Disappearances) which started well but soon seemed to lose it´s reason to be interesting.
Now I just want to point out about myself that I always aim to finish what I start so that I will not regret later. Even when it comes to shows that slowly stop really interesting me. Sometimes they might surprise you. Not many of those this time I´m afraid. Surprises at the end...
But that is not how it always goes and it shouldn´t! So I will lift my chin up high and waltz myself to summer dammit! I´m gonna get a tan and travel! Guys! Happy Summer to ya all! Go get some sun!
Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu (The Dangers in My Heart) season 2 holds clear and earned first place, Yubisaki to Renren (A Sign of Affection) holding strong foot on second place. Loop-7 (the name is too damn long) being 6th and Dosanko Gal in 9th. Lucky we who enjoy some romance time to time. <3.
But holy hell there were some surprises if you did not know beforehand what you were going to watch! Thirsty dogs were given some nectar with Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete (Gushing over Magical Girls) in 5th and Mato Seihei no Slave (Chained Soldier) in 7th places. This years award for "Horniest show" is having at least two strong competitors and I wish luck for both of them. ;D
Found myself this time from ranks 1, 3, 8-10 and I must say this winter was very enjoyable and there was a lot to watch. Hopefully you all had as much fun as I did.
Special shout out to Sousou no Frieren for having being on Top Anime list with an astonishing first place score of 9,39! Over 60% giving it score of 10, near 24% score of 9 and 9,5% score of 8. Amazing numbers! Congrats to Frieren, hopefully you will be as amazing in the future.
Thank you winter for keeping our spirits up! It is time to head towards the spring. It seems to have a few heavy hitters making a comeback and also couple of possible gems. Let´s do this!
Active team of mine did really well, achieving spots 1, 2, 4, 6 and 14.
Sousou no Frieren holding the number one spot not only in this game, but in the overall world of furious viewers of anime community. Holding number 1 spot in Top Anime list with 9,14 points average throwing FMAB to number 2 spot (9,09 pts) for the longest time it has been for a while! We shall see if Alchemists still can fight for the throne, not that it would lose to some seasonal miracle of an anime. This time we might actually witness a long lasting chance in power. And those who know about Frieren, it might be a long time rule.
FAL´s secong place goes to Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, a tale from China, where young and bright pharmacist gets sold to Emperors palace and after showing some skill becomes one of the most trusted individual there. Could be just me, but this costume-drama gives me some "Downton Abbey" vibes mixed with questionable herbs. Very funny in the middle of some dark stories.
Do yourselves a favor and give these ones a chance. I did. I´m glad I did.
4th place went to Shangri-La Frontier and 6th to Undead Unluck. Both well made action-adventure stories with great storytelling and memorable action. 14th went to Mahoutsukai no Yome S2P2, which though slow paced managed to hold till the end.
AAAAND how about Jujutsu Kaisen?! Do I need to say more? I don´t know if MAPPA can keep this up but MY GOD I do hope so. They have spoiled us with some amazing fights and animation over-all.
Hope you all had a great new year!
Put BUG FILMS behind your ears folks, this studio just made one hell of an entrance!
Following on second place with "Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon" or "My Happy Marriage", this beautiful show twisted my guts and burned my knuckles into white for all the wrong reasons. It was like watching Downton Abbey´s John and Anna and their troubles to find happiness with each other. Frustrating but o´my when we saw some good to happen it felt like... a bliss.
"Helck" and "Lv 1 Maou to One Room Yuusha / Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero" were nice surprises for those looking out for a bit different kind of fantasy series. Giga Chad of a human wants to become a new Demon Lord and in other one former hero in his thirties has given up on everything yet is still strongly believed in by a Demon Lord... ... ... ok, MAYBE fantasy hasn´t taken too different route but hey! It is still enjoyable action anime.
In the end there were many good shows to spend time with but I think Spring had more interesting choises to offer. This season might have been a bit "steady" with it´s offerings but then again it is not something to be seen as a bad thing. Maybe you watched a dozen good shows last season and only 2-3 this time, but this kind of pacing is brilliant for you to continue being honest for your own taste.
My best rankings were Tengoku Daimakyou in 2nd, Mashle in 3rd and Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Bakuen Wo in 5th place.
My lowest score was with Niehime to Kemono no Ou in 32nd rank. Considering that I haven´t heard much talks about this one (and that I kinda put it there just to fill in the bench) it did fare quite well.
Overall out of rankings of 48 anime my team got scattered between places 2 to 32. Not too shabby for a first timer.
By a landslide victory the crown went to Oshi no Ko with over three times the points of the second place! Talk about a slaughter... It already had 5 episodes in when I decided to give it a shot and... Yeah, I can see the appeal. Those who vote for it, nice. Talk about that pilot episode, I did NOT see that coming.
Special shout-out to 9th place Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu. I REALLY wish I had not been blind when this one started dropping episodes. When it comes to visuals, music, timing, voice acting, atmosphere... I had no idea romcom could go that hard! Kaguya got serious competition with this one.
So that was it for the Spring! Let´s see how we do this summer and and continue it from there hopefully many times over.
All fun and games and barely anyone got hurt. Summer, I´m ready for you!
