Level 9999 Gatcha is another entry in the overpowered character that can just obliterate anything in one hit genre of anime. It's nothing new and it's been done so much to the point I don't really think much of them anymore and they do so little to set them apart from the others. 9999 Gatcha is no different with maybe like 2 exceptions.
Story follows a young boy called Light. A weak human who was left to die when recruited by a party called the Concord when they suspected he was "The Maestro" - However, they find out he's not and they try to kill
...
him. Through luck he escapes to the bottom of the abyss where he summons a super rare level 9999 maid and works his way up from weak to level 9999 over powered. He's now on a pursuit to murder all those that did him wrong in his time in the concord.
The plot isn't anything new and to be honest, the story is a bit formulaic in that he tracks down someone he doesn't like. takes them back to the abyss, they realize he's not a joke, try to suck up to him in order to have their life spared and then he fucking murders them. I have nothing against a revenge story. In fact I find them quite satisfying, especially because he's not a Villain but he had every right to have his own Villain arc, but I found the show to be mostly uninteresting. Episode 1 I really liked, Episode 2 the time skip felt so random because next episode he's got his own city, throne room and his own cast of maids, fighters etc. - Then after that it felt very meh until episode 11 and 12 where he had a fight that lasted more than 5 seconds which coincidentally I found to be the best episodes in the anime.
Earlier I mentioned it did 2 things that I don't tend to see fantasy anime do that much and that's I liked how gorey got. Don't get me wrong, didn't happen much but the times it did it looked really cool and I'm someone who doesn't tend to bode well with that type of stuff. Also liked that they did swear too, again not much but it felt a lot more adult-ey and I really appreciated that.
Overall I don't think this show was bad, but I don't think it's worth the watch. Normally I don't read reviews before starting an anime but this time I did and it seemed mostly praised so my review will probably be seen as more unpopular but I really don't see what the majority was seeing. It was just fine at best. Nothing special in my eyes. Also we needed more Aoyuki, she was awesome. (completely biased)

I feel very mixed on this anime. I enjoyed it but I found it to be quite mid for the most part which I know every show can't be a banger but S Rank Adventurer is another fantasy anime that does what most do in its genre
The plot follows Lloyd, a white mage who's kicked from the hero's party for being "useless" but in reality he's a strong support mage. So he gets recruited by an S rank party because they desperately needed a white mage and they realize he's actually overpowered and the Hero was so full of himself that he didn't understand Lloyd
...
is actually strong. However, because he's been told so many times how useless he is, Lloyd has major self esteem issues.
It's a plot that's been used quite a lot. Kicked from the party but is actually OP. It's nothing new and they're a dime a dozen. Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer is a decent watch if you want something to just watch and you're not looking for anything too crazy and you want something that isn't too fast pace. Lloyd, despite him being overpowered isn't like more MCs who has a massive ego, but I found him to be a bit annoying at first. I have my reasons.
My reasons stem from: for at least the first 5-6 episodes he's constantly having self esteem issues. Despite his party constantly telling him how amazing he is and how strong his magic is. Every single time he gets a compliment he goes "I'm not strong, that's just amateur and I'm worthless" it gets old real quick. I already found it to be a slow start to the show and with how much he kept putting himself down it really wore thin after a while. All this because one person told him he wasn't good enough.
The rest of the anime is just fine at best. I found the S rank party to be really likable. I found the dub to be a bit hit and miss though. Yui's voice especially just wasn't it. Animation is fine and story is fine. I would recommend the watch, but I wouldn't recommend going into it with a critical mindset because that's when you will be disappointed because this show really is just fine at best.

If I could describe this anime in one word it would be: "disappointing" - because in my eyes (no pun intended) this anime had so much potential and it had such a good setup to a story that not only could be interesting, but also would make a pretty interesting main character too. Instead what we got was a LOT of missed potential to the point it feels like the writers forgot what they originally intended to do with Kunon and what this anime is even about.
Kunon is a young lad who wants to be a sorcerer, but he has one major obstacle in
...
his way and that's he can't see. The way he's mainly getting around is with magic and his goal is he wants to be able to open his eyes and actually see what's in front of him so he wants to learn magic in order to make his own pair of eyes.
The setup to the anime is great and for the first 2 or so episodes I felt pretty intrigued. It felt different and I was excited to see what was going to happen. However, I think the developers forgot that Kunon was supposed to be blind because despite the disability it doesn't affect ANYTHING plot wise or character wise and it makes you wonder what the point of it is. When he makes the eye, it's used for 1 episode and then you don't really see it anymore (as of episode 9). He then just continues on like normal. What is the point? His blindness isn't affecting him at all and it seems to be a plot that's mostly just pushed to the side which is crazy to me when it's the whole point of the show.
I also think the pacing can be a bit weird. In the 9 episodes we have so far, he's only really learned like 2 skills and I feel like by now he should have learned something else by now? I can't help but feel like this anime was rushed because nothing is hitting like I feel they wanted it to. The humor is fairly mid (most of this show I've been watching with a blank expression the entire time), the story feels all over the place and pretty rushed going from one plot point to the next and it feels like there's not much hope of redemption.
I really can't see this getting a season 2 because whilst it isn't unwatchable I really feel like it has heavily fallen off which is a shame because this was one of the anime I was looking forward to the most this season. Disappointed is an understatement.

This might be controversial to say, but I personally think that season 3 of Spy x Family is the best season they've done by far. I've seen criticism that say Season 3 feels so much more different and how it doesn't feel like Spy Family, but I couldn't disagree more. In terms of seasons, I think this has been the most interesting one yet.
Spy x Family isn't an anime to take too seriously I feel. Every since episode 1, season 1 it has never given the impression that it's going to be a super serious, dark or ominous vibe to it and even now
...
that isn't the case. It has been so far a mixture between comedy and spy which is a combination I didn't think would work that well until I started watching. Anya is as goofy as ever, Loid is still a great mixture of a family man that is also a pretty cool spy and Yor is still a lovable mother that I wish they would do more with.
Season 3 has also been really interesting in the way of the characters. It was really interesting to see how Loid became Agent Twilight and his past with his parents, seeing how he grew up, meeting his childhood friends, how he met Franklin and how he was recruited into being an Agent. Twilight and his backstory set a tone for what season 3 would ultimately become and I liked it a lot. The stakes in missions were way more high and intense with one of my biggest examples of what happened with Anya and the academy (really trying to avoid spoilers).
As of writing this review there is only one more episode left in season 3 that is yet to release and I feel like from start to finish this series has been continuously great. My only real critique comes with some characters not getting a lot of attention. For example Agent Nightfall and Yuri, I'd like to know more about these 2 but they're not seen very often. This goes double for Yor. Yor has potential to have really good episodes but despite her being an assassin, she's mainly seen as a house wife that can be pretty ditsy when she wants to be. We've already seen what she's capable of, yet she seems tied back. This season all we've really seen is her getting drunk and hang out with Damians mother once. She almost feels like a background character when she's one of the main cast. I'd love if she could do more. I think it'd be really funny if she could help Twilight out with missions, even if she doesn't realize she's doing it. It just feels like wasted potential.
Overall, still really like this season a lot and I hope season 4 will focus on some more back stories and getting Anya some more stars

I had a feeling I was going to enjoy this seasonal anime, but I didn't expect to enjoy it THIS much. Not only enough to rate it a 10, but also go as far as to consider it to be in my top 5 anime. I'm seriously enjoying it that much. The seasonal anime this time around has been really hit and miss for me, most of them dropping because I haven't enjoyed them. This feels like a pallet refresher.
Mechanical Marie follows Marie who has debt and in order to help overcome that she takes a job offer to work as a "robot" for
...
Arthur as he is constantly being attacked or someone is trying to kill him. The guy being pretty damn stupid believes Marie to be a Robot and Marie serves him in his day to day life whilst trying to protect him and her identity.
Personally, I am really enjoying this watch. By far one of my favourites of the season. The comedy and jokes land well. For example in episode 8 (the latest as of writing this review) - Marie almost blows her cover of not being a Robot by saying she was a lawnmower before being made into a Robot which I found so stupid and funny at the same time.
I can't really say much without spoiling anything and it's better to just watch it. It's one of those shows that you shouldn't take too seriously. It's a more laid back watch but it also has some genuinely sweet moments that if you're into Rom/Coms like I am, this is definitely a solid watch in my opinion. I haven't rated many shows a 10/10 on MAL, but this one has been consistently a fantastic anime to me and I really hope it gets a season 2 in the future.

My Awkward Senpai: One of the very few shows I have been enjoying this season. I would go as far as to say this anime is under rated.
My Awkward Senpai follows Yuu, a Junior that has just begun work at a new company and has been assigned to work with his senpai Azusa. Azusa is the type to look tough, calm, composed and professional but a lot of the times that's an act. She's tasked with training the new hire and this can lead to comical situations. Whilst at work she maintains this show, at home she's just your average adult coasting through life
...
as a single 20+ year old
MAS has been what I can only describe as a pallet refresher. I've seen a lot of romance anime in my time. Some good, some bad. This one feels different. I absolutely have been loving this anime for a few reasons:
1. The chemistry between the two has felt natural and not forced: They didn't start out having feelings, but gradually over time they're moving into that and it hasn't felt like someone is forcing them to do something or they've realized it from the beginning and they just can't say it for 12 episodes
2. The way they interact with each other and defend each other is also natural and sweet: Yuu never hesitating to stick up for Azusa or Azusa looking out for Yuu. It makes for some genuine and sweet moments
3. Work related jokes and comedy: mainly because I work to pay my mortgage off and it just feels relatable. Also makes it funnier that when Azusa comes home she likes to play games and has barely anything in the fridge. This is just me.
there are many more reasons but I don't want to spoil anything. That's the hard part about writing these reviews. I try to keep it spoiler free. Overall I'm loving this anime and I'm praying that when season 1 ends, it ends up getting a season 2 because I don't want this to be the only thing I see from My Awkward Senpai

I'm not entirely sure why I'm still watching this anime, maybe it's because I don't completely hate it, but I'm also not finding it to be that good of an anime. Out of all the seasonal anime I'm watching there's only 3 of them that I like, that being Spy x Family s3, My Awkward Senpai and Mechanical Marie. Inexpressive Kashiwada has been a very meh anime to me.
A basic summery is there's a girl called Kashiwada and she doesn't tend to show emotion at all. Even if she's happy, sad, angry or even confused she pretty much always has a blank expression on
...
her face. Oota, a guy in her class does everything in his power to make her break this cycle and get her to react (for some reason) and so goes their day to day lives in school doing various things. It's a very run of the mill anime.
Personally I like my comedies, slice of life and romance anime so this to me felt like a must watch. However, my main issue with this show has not been Kashiwada, but Oota. Oota comes across as a complete shit stain. Kashiwada will just be minding her own business or be having a good time and Oota comes along and just ruins the mood by doing something to fuck with her. All because she doesn't react. Sometimes it even comes across as down right cruel. I already find him to be incredibly annoying as is, but with the constant bullying I just find him to be a completely horrible character. Kashiwada, I find to be a great character. I have no issues with her because despite being emotionless, I find her to be entertaining but I really don't like Oota.
The episodes themselves are fine, nothing to go crazy over. When it's your typical Rom/Com, you're not going to get anything out of the ordinary.
If the anime picks up in the last couple of episodes I'll edit or rewrite this review as I've only watched up to episode 7 (the latest as of writing this)

I wouldn't typically review an anime after only 6 episodes, but I feel like I have to get my thoughts out on this one whilst it's fresh on my mind.
Hero without a class is another run of the mill anime about the main character being over powered and being able to defeat pretty much anyone he comes across without any issues whatsoever. It's a trope that has been done to death at this point and honestly I'm at the point I don't mind it because of that fact. Sometimes I won't finish them if I just find them downright boring and Hero without a
...
Class I'm finding it somewhere down the middle. I'm liking it, I do plan on continuing it, but I'm not finding it to be anything more than ok at best.
My main issue with the show comes from Arel, the main character of the show. I find that guy to be ridiculously dull. His ENTIRE personality is about getting stronger. He can be defined under a term known as "Flanderization" a term used to giving a character one personality and one personality only. In this case the only thing Arel cares about, is getting stronger to compensate not having a blessing from the god of the world. I'm all for a character wanting to get stronger, but when an entire character can't even have fun, crack jokes or talk about anything other than his training. It gets to the point it gets stale very fast. Episode 6 has just finished as of writing this and despite his accomplishments so far, he's still going on about getting stronger. We can't just have even a 5 minute break from it.
A lot of these animes do this, mainly Isekai: They will focus less on making a good story and instead focus on getting the main character as strong as possible in such a short space of time. They will do this to a point that they're defeating everything really fast and there's no build up, and there's almost nothing to watch. Hero without a Class also has a ridiculous amount of time skips and moments that he will coincidently have learned a new skill or ability off screen so that the current scenario benefits from it. You don't see this though so it almost feels like a slideshow of events. It's disappointing. This anime has potential but they haven't done anything with it. I can't care about a character or an anime if I'm not given a reason to care. When there's no build up or tension, it gives me nothing to hype up or get excited about which leads it to be lack luster.
Overall, anime is fine but is quite disappointing. Unless it picks up in the last 6 episodes I wouldn't watch a second season of this because each episode feels like deja vu
15/03/2026 - Small edit: Just finished after inititally dropping it. It's pretty ass

I can see why this is the lowest rated anime on MyAnimeList... that was absolute ass
The Anime does a piss poor job at explaining literally anything. You're going to have a hard time trying to figure out what the plot for this is because it doesn't really explain it at all other than a news broadcaster saying a monster has appeared. That's all there is to really take away from this one. It goes from scene to scene at such a fast pace that I felt like I was watching a heavily condensed movie on TikTok or something
The animation was also pretty ass for 99%
...
of it, most of the character designs were fine but it was mostly ass. The anime aired in 2004 according to MAL which for context, some others that also aired in 2004 was Bleach, Elfen Lied, Howl's Moving Castle and School Rumble. When I was watching Skelter Heaven I honestly thought it was an 80s anime but I was shocked to see this was released in the same year as some of the big names in anime. Even Naruto, a show that came out in 2002 was visually way better.
Skelter I feel does have potential to be something decent, but it's over shadowed by the pacing and the pretty ass story. I may be biased because I don't tend to like Mecha anime. I can't really think of any that I have enjoyed so far. It's why I dropped Darling in the Franxx because I plain didn't like it. This one kept my attention, but it failed to be interesting. If the pace wasn't so bad, I may have liked it. Also the random love confession from Rin at the end was so unnecessary and just came out of nowhere. It did nothing for the plot, she just randomly said it.
Not sure what they were trying to do with Skelter Heaven, not even sure they knew themselves. Just another forgettable anime to add to the list I suppose

I'm not going to say I hated this season, because I didn't. However, to say this season was good would be a bit of a stretch in my eyes. I've reviewed the last 3 seasons, so I felt obligated to write one for this season as I was really looking forward to Season 4 after getting hyped after watching the last few episodes of season 3 but in short this season fell kinda flat.
Season 1: Amazing
Season 2: It was alright, bit boring though in my opinion
Season 3: Pretty good, really enjoyed it
Season 4: It felt very bland. Almost like a filler season more than
...
anything. The first few episodes almost nothing happens. It just focuses on Naofumi and the others wanting a boat but is continuously left with not getting one for one reason or another. It then transitions into some lore for Atla and Fohl (which I did appreciate as I did find that to be interesting)
The season progresses and it really continues to go at a slow pace for basically the entire season. The only time it felt like we got some action other than the fight between Fohl and Jaralis was the final episode. It felt like such a slow burner season which I don't mind not having action in every episode, but it's really making me question the direction this series is heading and whilst I don't hate this season, it's not making me that excited for a season 5. I'm really hoping this isn't going to be the direction Shield Hero is going as I've really enjoyed this anime up until now and I hope in season 5 it's going to be a bit more interesting and it's going to be slightly more fast pace.
