Sate sate sate!! Where should I start from? Lately I have started writing reviews for a lot of animes basically after watching an anime I am putting my thoughts 💭 into words. I am here to write about my watching experience and what I think about the current season.
Lets start with animation first? Shall we?
It has been almost 10 years since I have started watching anime and I am really bad at remembering the names of this Japanese voice actors and directors/storyboard artists/key animators. I mean there are names are hard to remember to begin with. With few exceptions here and there. Since the jjk
...
season 3 started airing I have heard one name again and again, people are really appreciating his work and the artistic touch his brought to this season, it’s none other than Shota Goshozono aka Gosso. And we can clearly see that in this season. I am going to remember his name 💯
First two seasons were already good in terms of animation and stuff, but what I missed or felt could have been better in Mahorga vs Sukuna last season is that the color grading and the overall artstyle being a bit better (I know I know animators did not have enough time) but this time around this was rectified with that beautiful color grading and the full screen long shots? (Not sure what are they technically called) but you get what I mean right?
Also the whole approach I think is a bit changed in terms of animation, artstyle and how it needs to be adapted hmm in technical terms it would be how the story board were designed and the direction. I really loved it the whole artistic approach of it. I really hope they get him back somehow later on to work on some of the important stuff.
What I love about jjk fights is that the hand-to-hand combat it’s beautifully choreographed and animated. I do miss the artstyle from season, mainly the Gojo’s character design from season 1 was 🤌🏻 but this new style they tried first starting with the movie then s2 and s3 is also 🤌🏻. It’s not a downgrade in anyway and I can’t imagine jjk being animated in some other style. People like comparing mappa’s work to you know that standard set in KNY but we have to understand that this two are completely different thing maybe KNY was supposed to have that artstyle and animation to elevate the adaptation and jjk needed this artstyle that we have seen from s1-s3. I would say each to their own and I love both. I would really thank animators and heck even MAPPA executives to treat jjk like this we can see why this is their passion project. Apart from this jjk they are killing with hell paradise and chainsaw man this year. We have dorehedoro coming later so we are eating good guys.
Now let’s move to characters, MANHHHH I see why Sukuna has his eyes on Megumi—bro is so talented and the way he uses his curse technique 🤌🏻 bro has to use his domain expansion every time being soaked in his own blood😂 the domain is still incomplete imagine what he can do with the complete ryoiki tenkai!!!
That shitface Reggie really went and said this to Megumi huh: “So let fate toy with you, and let you die a clown”😭
ITADARI MY BOIII you have to stop blaming yourself for Shibuya, it’s not even your fault bro.
All this new characters shown in Culling Game Arc,
Hakari
Higuruma
Reggie
Hazenoki
Takaba
Ishigori
Uro
I liked how they all different with all different traits. Gege thought it through when writing them. All of them have different personalities and curse techniques. Perfect!!
Who the hell is Takaba bro?? Why did tengen mentioned he can rival even Gojo with his Curse Technique but he is not aware how it works???? Meaning if he thinks a joke or thinks the infinity which gojo uses in a way like—if thinks Gojo’s infinity and limitless technique in a comedy way and make a joke about it he can rival him??? Overpower him??
Now let’s talk about YUTA!! Our originally planned protagonist for the series. Honestly I think Yuta is a main character material but bro somehow falls in that OP side character second lead category of characters? Why? Reason is simple—bro is too good to be a main character—he goes against the main character traits—bro is smart—has bis basics down about the fight and overall the curse energy and stuff—too powerful and well written to be a protagonist—trauma is resolved very early on—and very chill guy tbh.
I now understand why Gojo took his name infront of Kenjaku saying are you forgetting the one who defeated the owner of your body? Kenjaku says Yuta but being an anime only and just seeing him once in the movie was not really convincing enough.
But watching this season convinced me why he is the second strongest after Gojo, having more storage of Curse Energy and his curse technique being Copy—this is basically him having a cheat code bro.
He has Shinigami, fights with sword, the voice actor of his kills it with every line? TOTALLY A MAIN CHARACTER VIBE!!!
We saw him basically go toe to toe with 4 special grade level threat. And honestly it never felt he would loose he had something up his sleeve everytime. But one thing he does not have is that control/refinement on how he spends his curse energy. He can use reverse cursed technique as well but that uses a lot of energy. Him being able to go back to his original quota of energy or on the same level after calling Rika is 🔥 even if its for 5min. I am really excited to see how Yuta fights in upcoming seasons.
We got that peak last episode, the OP?? Being placed when he finally fights Ishigori 1v1 and defeats him, that felt soo good. Overall this season is really well made.
I am baffled by how every time this japanese people can cast the perfect voice and voice actor for the characters?? Like how do they know that they will come out really well in the final product, what kind of audition they take or how many voice actors do they try before finalising someone?? Every anime I have watched always had the best actor for the characters. Like they don’t go wrong in casting voice actors for sure!
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, now let’s all wait for the next cour/season

SHIT so good that I watched all seasons in 3 days.
After watching all 5 seasons, I can say this with full confidence—that this anime was adapted at the wrong time. Season 1 goes way back to 2011, then Season 2 in 2017. That gap between seasons really broke its fan following. This shit should’ve been animated in the 2020s—in this decade, without a doubt, this would’ve been talked about all over. The anime getting caught up with manga in Season 1 itself, and then we getting that filler slope and all, broke the momentum. I am glad that this got a continuation, and I hope
...
the whole thing will be adapted.
Season 5’s first episode title is Yuri and Shiro. From the name itself, I knew we were going to get a sad romantic story between these two which would get a tragic ending. But I have to say, I did not expect it to be like that. Shiro and Yuri deserved each other. Only if Shiro had acknowledged his feelings from the start, we might have had a different ending. It’s all ifs and buts. Satan was lurking from the start, since she was a kid—it would’ve eventually happened. But really, a tragic love story. At least in her last moments, she was with Shiro, and Shiro could actually accept and reciprocate his feelings—but it was too late before he could put it into words.
Yuri was too good for her own good. Her obsession with making demon friends and stuff got the better of her. I know she saw a lone boy who was all alone and felt lonely and stuff—but girl, wrong people. Everyone is not Shiro.
I now understand why Rin was the one who was sent to the past—to learn what happened, how he was born, and the story of his mother and that old geezer Shiro.
Rin is a splitting image of young Shiro. The attitude and everything is the same, but deep down he is a kind person—same as Shiro. I really hope Yukio gets to know why he is named Yukio and the story behind it. If not for Shiro and Mephisto, we would’ve had two more Satan and Lucifer—but thank God Shiro raised them.
I have to say what a character development shiro got 🤌🏻 from the season 1 I thought he was just you know one of those good characters who would do good things but watching his past arc—hmm. I am glad that we got it.
I am glad that RIN got to know the past, that kid was thinking that if he wouldn’t have been born all of this would not happen but after seeing his mom and dad’s past and how much they gave up and sacrificed for them to live, he finally understood.
Mephisto is one cunning bastard, but somehow I feel he is on humans’ side, and that’s a good thing. Even if he is a Baal, one of the true demon kings, he is still weaker than his elder brother Lucifer and his father Satan. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next. I hope we get new seasons as soon as possible.
Aarghh, it has been a long time since I felt like this watching something—all kinds of emotions. I was happy, I was rooting for them, sobbing, pitying, cursing, hoping. What a roller coaster ride of emotions. That cliffhanger is criminal, bruh—how am I supposed to wait?? Season 5 aired in Jan 2025, and I watched it now—still there’s no official news for Season 6. Best of luck to all of us!!
I gave Season 1 a 7/10. The show gradually got better and better, and this season deserves 9/10 for sure 💯

I just wrote my thoughts for Seasons 1–3 in season 3, and I started watching Season 4. Well, the early episodes like 1–4 were giving off that same vibe as the previous seasons—like Season 1 mainly focusing on the Okumura brothers, Season 2 on Bon, Shima, and Konekomaru, and Season 3 on Izumi. From the early episodes, the fourth one seemed like it would be following the same route, but to my and everyone’s surprise, it is not.
The author finally decided to throw bombs at us. You could say it was all of a sudden, or maybe it wasn’t. I eventually thought Season 4 would
...
be Yukio’s season, but it’s not. With all the subplots and everything going on, you would think like that—but then comes the revelation bomb in Episodes 6–7. I am not sure if it is the truth or not, but Mephisto revealed something interesting about the demons—thanks to our Lightning being noisy about the Blue Night incident.
We first learn that the Elixir—yes, the same one which Lucifer and his Illuminati gang are trying to make—was actually started from the school.
We then get to hear a story from Mephisto about the world and how it was in the past.
Thousands of years ago, there were these Baal entities which existed but did not have a physical body; rather, they were conceptual and spiritual entities. As human culture advanced, maybe they tried summoning these Baal entities, which did not have any physical body before, and since they now got a taste of it, they didn’t want to let it go. Human lifespan is limited no matter what you do, and since these Baal entities were incarnated in physical bodies, they would someday perish. While some of them were okay with it and accepted it, there were some Baal like Lucifer whose physical body used to deteriorate faster than others—he could not accept it. There is no concept of dying for them; it’s the pain all over again of losing the physical form and stuff.
So Lucifer and a few demons started a war against humans. But as always, there were a few Baals who were good and did not agree with Lucifer. Such Baals, along with Mephisto, shared their knowledge with humans on how to fight demons, and that’s how the Knights of the True Cross began.
Then, a few hundred years ago, Lucifer finally snapped and wanted to destroy everything. But Mephisto suggested they could make him a clone so he could switch between bodies without worrying, and that’s how the research at the school started as Sector 13. But to their surprise, all clones were not complete, and then to please Lucifer, they began working on the immortality Elixir. While doing this, they succeeded in making one vessel for Amaimon but could not succeed for Lucifer.
But one day, a being came into existence—and that was none other than Satan himself in one of the clones—and that’s how the Blue Night happened. Almost everyone from the lab died, but somehow Lucifer took all the research with him and continued working on the Elixir.
What’s more shocking and confusing is how Bon found Shiro in one of the documents, and he was a clone of Azazel—one of the entities who sided with humans alongside Mephisto. But there’s one page missing from Azazel’s clone file. Bon gets to a conclusion that Satan is a clone of Azazel, and it means that the Okumura brothers have Azazel’s blood—and then they make us even more confused.
We got all this information in like 1.5 episodes—can you believe that?? It’s confusing AF but interesting as well. I really hope the studio is being faithful to the manga and not skipping important chapters and scenes.
This is for the people who are thinking of quitting even after watching Season 3 or who have started Season 4—continue it, guys. Keep watching, true me it will get better.
I hate what the author has done in the end—like making the MC seem like a dumb person and having someone close to him betray him—and him grasping the situation he is in and realizing that what is happening is actually real and not a dream.
Man, the anime took a 360 turn now—from fun and ongoing to serious shit. We are finally getting serious, eh?
Solid 8.3/10

I was one of those who did not write reviews after watching something, but lately I have been trying to write put my thoughts together after watching something and posting them in reviews. Instead of keeping it to myself and talking to myself in my mind I thought it’s better to write it down in review.
Well with being said, let’s start!!
I mean the last two 2-3 years have been a really good as an anime watcher. We got new seasons of Konosuba, Grand Blue and now this Blue Exorcist and don’t forget Bleach. What a time to be an anime fan.
I had watched
...
Blue exorcist way back in 2018-2019 when I had started fully experiencing the world of anime. As I was new to it, all this anime like AoT, Blue Exorcist or sword art online they were really fun to watch.
But I had not so good time watching Blue Exorcist, at first it was a really interesting story like a character being born of Demon and human child and as always he is being raised by a Human to be a kind person who helps other and overall is good person. (kind of a cliche if u would ask me) but all animes work like this in a way you can find something in common— cliche stuff with other shows.
But what made me had a bad experience is those filler eps after ep 17 of Season 1 and then the season 2 which honestly did not feel like I was continuing the same series or the story started from where it left off in season 1, but overall the experience was good tho it’s just left me confused. But the real reason was those extra OVA’s and the movie that made me loose my interest and when the season 3 was announced and I got to know that its coming like in a few months I was not really excited about it. But they really kept going huh season 3 then 4 then 5 or cour 2 & 3 of season S3?? Whatever it is I finally started watching it.
Started from season 1 skipped everything after ep 17 to direct season 2 and then to 3. And my god I felt I was robbed of something good. It is understandable that the mange caught up and everything but why make anime original eps which later on mostly going to be ignored.
But whatever it is I am really glad that they finally decided to continue the series. Season 3 is a upgrade in terms of story and in the animation as well, I will get to this a bit later.
Story wise I felt that the plot finally started moving a bit from our protagonist and his Satan situation and blue flames. Season 1 was more of intro of him and his brother and how they were born how they were raised who raised them etc. Then season 2—Rin finally learned how to control his flames and then he one shot the Impure king in the end. Whilst all this happening we get a subplot of Todou and Yukiou. Todou being interested in Yukio even before he saw his blue eyes is something which piqued my interest and I wanted to know what happens next. But who knew we had to wait for almost a decade for it be made in a video format?
And now to season 3, that Yukio angle of him having or inheriting Satan’s power is still there but we do not learn more about it but rather we get introduced to an new storyline. The Illuminati, being lead by mephisto’s big brother the king of light Lucifer. And we get to see why Izumi is the way she is through her past story and all. Towards the end or last ep again the focus shifting to Yukio. Damn I am excited to watch the next season.
Mephisto is one cunning asshole, no one is sure what he is thinking. He knew everything from the Impure king to Illuminati but still kept quiet. What is he cooking, is he on Human’s side or Demons?? No one knows for sure, only time will tell.
Now., The ANIMATION.
As I mentioned that I had watched this way back in 2018-19 if u had asked me it was made by A1-Pictures what do u think I would’ve probably said, so what about it? But now after watching tons of their work watching them delivering top notch stuff and then learning about the studio change for Blue Exorcist was difficult and disappointing.
Some might say it is a downgrade, but while I do agree but I would say 30% yes and 70% no I do not agree because the change is good. What A1 did in 2010’s was something which matched that era their art-style was great and the animation was great. It was not one of the best but season 2 did stand out from 1. The studio change to VOLN brought better colouring or use of lighting and I would say better artstyle and character design for some characters?? I have to say this The twins look like they are fat or something but Bon, Shiemi and others looked good in this artstyle. Someone from the studio or animation team is Bon’s fan cause his character has been consistent throughout the show in terms of animation. I am looking forward to the next season and to see if they improve the quality or not. Though A1 would have cooked something great with blue Exorcist. But once you get used to S3’s style the previous two seasons seems old in terms of animation.
I read few things here and there about the season 3 skipping a lot scenes from manga but as an anime only s3 did not feel odd to me at all. Maybe those scenes were not really important?? Who knows?
Alright then onto the next season!!

This is more of my experience of watching Season 1 & 2 than a proper review.
People from the entertainment business, like people who make movies, series, and stuff in the comedy genre, always tend to say that this genre is heavily underappreciated and doesn’t get its due. I also believe that making people laugh is the hardest thing to do, and this show does that flawlessly.
I rewatched the first season, and it was my second time watching it. Whilst I do remember the story and everything, but you know back then when I watched it, it did not leave that kind of IMPACT on me
...
on the first watch.
There are a few reasons. First, when I watched this show, I think I had just started watching anime—I was fully exploring this new world. Before this, I had watched Beyblade, Pokémon, and Inazuma Eleven as a kid. I started with AoT and among other things, so I was really new to this. At that time, I did laugh, but not to the LoL extent. I was somewhat familiar with the sitcom comedy setup but not the gag humour—it was all new to me. And I think you need to watch a few things here and there to get the full experience of shows in this genre.
This show is definitely out there and goes toe-to-toe with titles like Konosuba and Daily Lives of High School Boys (another show in the same genre—I haven’t seen a lot of people talking about this. Do give this one a chance if you haven’t yet).
With that being said, Grand Blue is really a straightforward show. While it may not do justice to the title, it is really honest when it comes to making people laugh.
S1: The story goes like this— Iori has completed his high school and left his home to stay with his relatives because he is starting college there in the city. But from the first episode itself, like you’re 5 minutes in and bro gets dragged into a really harsh reality or situation where his dream of ideal college life gets shattered—All of his dreams of having friends, specifically female friends, get shattered within 5 minutes of the first episode. He does try to run away from the reality he is facing currently but has to give up and join his seniors in the not-so-comfortable college life.
His seniors believe that everything needs to be solved with a rock-paper-scissors match, but it has to be played being 90% naked—most of the time fully naked—and getting drunk all the time. Pretty much a delinquent life, but these delinquents do not fight 😂
Iori accepts the reality and drags Kouhei into this facade with him—another character with a unique personality.
While we get introduced to more and more characters each episode, I really thought, even when I first watched S1, that Azusa would be a normal one. Unfortunately, she’s the weirdest of them all. While Chisa is the most normal in most situations, you could say the same for her sister Nanaka—except the sis-con issue.
Season 1 is mostly Iori and Kouhei’s wild college life and his life at the diving shop.
Iori also gets dragged into joining the Peek-a-Boo club in the first episode of S1, which is a cross-college club for diving. We do see this diving angle, but you will forget that it even had this in the show because of the situational gag humour.
S2: I liked Season 2 more because the show’s plot finally starts moving, and we do get the situational gag humour from Season 1 with all the characters. But now we get to see the show exploring situations with other characters like Chisa–Iori, Kouhei’s favourite voice actor singer, festivals in other colleges, and we do get more of diving this time and get introduced to more unique and weird characters 😂
Season 3 is already announced, and I am eagerly waiting for it.
Now if I have to talk about characters, I have to say this— Iori can’t read the room, and most of the time, heck every time, is extra straightforward. Sometimes you’re not supposed to say the obvious stuff to someone, but bro says that without hesitation, with confidence. Like there’s this thing in S2 E3-or-4 where he says Nanaka has a good body or a round ass 😂 and she overhears it, gets embarrassed, and now maintains her distance from Iori because she is shy and embarrassed that Iori thinks of her like this. Instead of convincing her that he did not mean it in a romantic way, rather was complimenting 😂 her body, bro again says “you do have a sexy body” to her face with a straight face 🙆🏻🤣
I have to say this—Chisa’s voice is so cute and soothing, I think I am addicted to her voice. Blue hair’s voice as well—their dubbing? It’s really well done. Both of their voices have that seducing vibe in them, specifically Chisa’s voice when she’s flustered and angry. Damn it!! I need to stop—I think I am affected by Iori and gang’s idiocy and perversity. Stay safe guys, stop watching this or take a break in between before you get turned into a bonafide pervert like Iori-sama.

Damn!!
It’s going to be tough to convey my thoughts about this series, specifically the second season, but I’ll try my best to get it across.
First – Season 1 & Season 2 watching experience
If I had to describe it, I would call the first season a pilot episode and the second season episode 2… maybe. Season 1 was all over the place—and I mean that in a good way. We had Maomao solving all these problems and mysteries around the palace while occasionally giving us bits of plot points here and there that made you want to stay until the end.
Season 1’s story was already well
...
written, but that wasn’t even the beginning. I think the author deliberately structured it this way so that no one could imagine what would happen in Season 2. Season 1 was all about build-up—planting the seeds so the threads could be connected later.
I would be lying if I said I never got bored with the routine that every episode followed. I did think about stopping and watching something else, but at the same time I didn’t—and thank god I didn’t. Continuing through both seasons after having that feeling turned out to be the right choice.
I’m not sure if it was intentional or not, but when you throw everything at someone all at once, they might miss something. This show did the opposite—it slowly, slowly built everything up.
Season 2 started rather slowly as well, continuing what Season 1 had set up. That might make some people impatient, but if you get through that part—my man, oh man—you are in for a treat.
Just how beautifully the dots from Season 1 and Season 2 start connecting in the later half of Season 2… it’s just peak after peak in terms of writing. Every small detail you see in the show ends up being used to connect those dots and weave everything into one thread. Every death, every conspiracy, every political move—everything is connected.
Overall thoughts
In Season 1, I felt like the plot didn’t really move much. We were introduced to many things early on, but the story was clearly building toward Season 2.
In Season 2, the overall plot finally starts moving forward. We move from Maomao being just an apothecary and Jinshi being just a nobleman to something much more. While we technically knew in Season 1 who Jinshi really was, it’s revealed much more clearly later in the story.
We see more of the current emperor.
We learn more about the late emperor, his empress, and his concubines.
And most importantly, we learn about the late Empress Regnant.
We also see how the late emperor’s powerlessness affected many people and how his mother essentially ruled from the shadows.
This story is a slow burner that gradually starts making more and more sense. If you want things to get going right from the start, this probably isn’t for you.
It’s complex at times, and it’s honestly astonishing how thoroughly the author has written everything. I must say though—it still carries a bit of that classic “royal court drama” cliché.
Subconsciously, I always thought that since the story takes place in an era with emperors, empresses, and crown princes, it would naturally involve greed for power, politics, and conspiracies. Because of that, I expected something like a war at some point… but I did not expect the author to cook this hard. 🤌🏻
I really crave stories like this—stories that slowly build everything up just so they can go absolutely wild in the later parts.
But with stories involving royalty and power struggles, sacrifices are inevitable—and they happen on both sides. The so-called “bad side” isn’t even purely bad or not all people from the side are bad they just get dragged into it. Characters like Shisui exist in every story like this, and it becomes unbearable to watch them sacrifice themselves for what they believe is the greater good.
The last 5–6 minutes of the second-to-last episode from season 2 were honestly unbearable for me to watch. It was just too much. Watched shisui throughout the season 2 and watching the mast 5 minutes really broke my heart.
The author really managed to make all of us emotional in one minute, and in the very next minute we’re already looking forward to what’s coming next. ( last episode of s2 🫡🥲)
Greed for power makes humans do many terrible things.
All Shisou wanted was for Shinmei to be back in his life. He did everything he could, but fate had other plans.
Our main leads
Our ML and FL, on the other hand—their story progresses quite well.
Jinshi is incredibly beautiful to the point that people sometimes question whether he’s a man or a woman. That very beauty is what makes him hesitate about his responsibilities—about being the Moon Prince, the crown prince.
Everyone sees him as someone whose only defining trait is his beauty. People judge him because of it, but they rarely look deeper to understand what kind of person he actually is.
Meanwhile, Maomao is… well, Maomao. She stays completely true to herself throughout both Season 1 and Season 2. Her character development is remarkable. We see her saying thay because of her upbringing she can’t really express herself and she can’t really understand other people’s emotions hence the cringe she feels whenever Jinshi gets cheesy. She as a person has really grown in season 2.
Although seriously—if only she had listened to Jinshi during the hunt… aargh. (sigh)
I’m really glad I waited until all the episodes from both seasons were out before watching. I honestly don’t think I would’ve had the patience to wait an entire week for every new episode.
Honestly it got everything right; comedy, drama, politics. Everything is written really well. It’s a perfect royal court room drama.
I don’t know if I made complete sense here, but if you’ve made it to the end of this review, please do yourself a favor and watch this slow-burn masterpiece.
And even after that incredible Season 2, there’s still more to come.
Because, as the title of the last episode of Season 2 says—
It’s just THE BEGINNING.

You know those isekai animes where the main character’s power/skill gets recognized by a special person and they start getting special treatment after that? This anime starts off like that.
And I’m a sucker for animes like this. I love when our main lead—our favorite character—gets recognized and then gets special treatment afterwards.
That being said, the anime is set in an old era where we have emperors, queens, kings, etc.
Our main character here is named Maomao, and I love her personality 🤌🏻. She’s carefree—lives her life the way she wants. Even in the royal palace her attitude doesn’t change. Sure, she is a servant there, but
...
that doesn’t change who she is. She doesn’t give a fuck about anyone else and, most importantly, she’s funny.
I love how this one character (not going to take names for spoilers) tries to seduce her, but she finds it cringe and literally throws up. Nothing works on her. She only cares about making medicine—actually, she loves it.
Basically, in the first episode she goes to sell her medicine and, while coming back home, she gets kidnapped and sold to the royal palace as a servant. Because of a turn of events, her secret skill—being an apothecary—gets revealed, and she gets appointed to a concubine as her lady-in-waiting / court lady. Now they make her taste food to check if it has poison, and most importantly she gets to do what she loves: make medicines.
But there’s more to it. When it comes to poison, she gets serious—really serious.
She gets appointed as the lady-in-waiting for one of the emperor’s concubines. Her job is to taste the food to check if it has poison and to help with all kinds of poison- and death-related stuff in the royal palace.
But underneath all that, there’s more to the story. Not every story needs good choreographed fights with peak animation. Sometimes a very well-written story can be just as good as an action, adventure, or thriller.
If I remember correctly it had 9+ rating when it was airing and now after finishing first season I think it deserved it. Do give it a try, you surely will like this.
Now onto the second season🫡

Solid 8/10
When it was airing I saw some of its promotional stuff and it was the characters playing basketball and badminton. I thought it would be in and out sports anime with main male and female characters being the best friends encouraging each other to be better and all eventually leading them to developing romantic feelings for each other.
While the romance angle is there but not quite like what I had imagined. Also not an anime with in and out sports stuff.
It’s actually a story of high school. While the sports is there and it is taken seriously and showed at a certain extent but
...
it is more of 30-40% sports and 60–70% school life.
I actually quite liked it. It makes you laugh and actually has a good story but at times you may feel it is dragged a bit too much (you will understand what I am talking about when you watch this)but considering how it all started it makes sense for it taking its time. I never really felt bored watching it. It has a good animation even for the sports part. The animation generally is quite well done and it suits the story as well.
If you want to watch a well balanced high school anime between sports and personal/school life then you could go for it, I can guarantee this that you will not get bored.
Welp with that, the season 2 is already announced and I think it would be coming this year only so I am looking forward to it.

Exactly what I expected and what I wanted to watch at the moment. Something fresh from the genre and very well written story.
Had heard a lot of good things about it when it was announced and the teaser was released. It’s because romance animes are tend to be slow paced or more of on the calmer side, I was avoiding watching a lot of things in the genre and recently picked up few from the genre and suddenly was in the mood to watch a high school anime which will make me feel good, make me laugh and would have a good love story and
...
it turned out be a beautiful love story.
And it’s always a treat to watch Romance, slice of life anime from CloverWorks and other studios like KyotoAnimation. They tend to go all out in this genre.

WELL, WELL, WELL—Kowloon Generic Romance is not so generic after all.
If you go into it judging only by the title, you’re definitely in for a surprise. For some, that surprise might work really well; for others, it might be a bit disappointing.
For me, it worked. I didn’t watch any teaser or trailer—I just jumped in after seeing a clip, hearing praise about the art style, and randomly coming across a kissing scene of the main characters on X. It was already on my watchlist while it was airing, so once it finished, I finally started it—and I quite liked it.
Going by the name, I assumed
...
it would be a straightforward romance anime. And after seeing that kissing scene, I was pretty sure it would be a romance between adults. The characters look mature—more like they’re in their late 20s or 30s. While the romance angle is definitely there, the show offers much more than that. It has subplots and a lot of character development. Although the story revolves around the two main characters, we also get to see several side characters and their stories.
As the series progresses, it gradually shifts into a sci-fi direction, and you slowly begin to understand that aspect of the story. About six episodes in, I found myself really wanting answers—constantly asking why things are happening and what comes next. Each episode adds more layers to the subplot, making it more engaging as it goes on.
This is truly not your generic romance anime. I’m really glad I went into it without knowing much—it made the experience much more pleasant and refreshing. It felt quite different from what I’ve been watching lately.
After seeing the ending, I’m glad I watched it. It was interesting, thoughtful, and definitely different from anything I’ve seen before. A lot of questions left unanswered and you might this what in the multiverse is this shyte but trust me its a good one.
“You have to let go of your past, and you need to move on. Only then can you find yourself—save yourself. No one else can save you but you, and you can become the absolute of yourself.
A special mention—the OP & ED songs were great specifically ED, it’s something which I would listen to here and there.
Solid 8/10 anime for me.
