An ecchi comedy that is superbly directed by Ryuutarou Nakamura in the style of Serial Experiments Lain
Coyote Ragtime Show
TV, 2006, 12 eps Me:- Author:6
Solid space western, and action adventure.
Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction (ONA)
ONA, 2024, 17 eps Me:- Author:7
For whatever reason, this series is slept on, despite it being Inio Asano's first anime adaptation and a great adaptation at that. Not sure how that's even possible.
Double Decker! Doug & Kirill
TV, 2018, 13 eps Me:- Author:7
A buddy comedy anime with decent thematic cohesion and vibrant characters, related (somehow) to Tiger and Bunny
Dual! Parallel Lun-Lun Monogatari

Good cyberpunk OVA with cool action and a complete story

Chiaki J Konaka wrote this more down-to-earth version of Giant Robo that also has a more eerie tone and social commentary
Gaiking: Legend of Daiku-Maryu
TV, 2005, 39 eps Me:- Author:7
A very fun and lighthearted mecha, adventure with a pretty good flowing narrative
Garo: Vanishing Line
TV, 2017, 24 eps Me:- Author:7
A throwback to 90s anime and my personal favorite in the Garo franchise
Gi(a)rlish Number

A cynical look at the anime industry, particularly when it comes to adapting light novels
Green Legend Ran
OVA, 1992, 3 eps Me:- Author:6
A solid Sci-fi war drama OVA with realistic violence, good storytelling, and timeless themes.
Junk Head
Movie, 2017, 1 ep Me:- Author:7
Incredible cyberpunk film using stop motion animation.
Made by one person, but you can't really tell.
Sequel coming soon!
Juusou Kikou Dancougar Nova
TV, 2007, 12 eps Me:- Author:6
A remake of an 80s super robot show (that was also decent), with a tighter story, directed by Oobari.
Kekkaishi
TV, 2006, 52 eps Me:- Author:7
Yet another overlooked shonen series with very good production values, a unique power system, cool myhtos, and likeable characters.
Recommended if you like Yu Yu Hakusho, Bleach, Jujutsu Kaisen, etc..
Kikou Kai Galient
TV, 1984, 25 eps Me:- Author:7
A forgotten classic from Ryosuke Takahashi (Votoms, Blue Gender) that has a very good story, animation and mecha action
Kyouran Kazoku Nikki
TV, 2008, 26 eps Me:- Author:7
Light sci-fi comedy that has solid serious moments as well. Recommended if you like Gintama.
Kyoushoku Soukou Guyver (1989)
OVA, 1989, 6 eps Me:- Author:6
Classic transforming hero series with cool gritty visuals. The 2005 tv version is also good.
Legendz: Yomigaeru Ryuuou Densetsu

A subversive and unique take on the Pokemon "genre", with director Akitarou Daichi's sense of humor.
Mahoromatic: Automatic Maiden
TV, 2001, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
Although it was quite popular back in the day, this Gainax sci-fi romcom was mostly forgotten, but I think it deserves to be remembered for the bold decisions and its shocking, ambiguous ending, which is on brand for Gainax titles' core messaging at the time.
Migi to Dali
TV, 2023, 13 eps Me:- Author:7
Weird and very implausible, but an overall well put together murder mystery with strong character development and a complete story.
Moonlight Mile 1st Season: Lift Off
TV, 2007, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
Quite odd and horny, but an otherwise interesting space sci fi series that becomes increasingly intense and complex (from the creator of Gundam Thunderbolt)

A surprisingly good slice of life and coming of age story

An anime musical combined with a death game, and a good character drama
Sakigake!! Otokojuku
TV, 1988, 34 eps Me:- Author:6
A fun Gar action-comedy with a similar art style to Hokuto no Ken. And personally, I think the first 15 episodes of this make for the funniest comedy anime I've ever seen, aside from Gintama.

A heavy on dialogue, captivating space opera
Shadow Skill: Eigi
TV, 1998, 26 eps Me:- Author:6
Another cool martial arts series with a cool female MC.
Shika no Ou: Yuna to Yakusoku no Tabi
Movie, 2022, 1 ep Me:- Author:7
Another serious fantasy from the creator of Beast Player Erin and Moribito. Production IG goes back to its golden age with this one, and nobody cares anymore. Sad.
Shin Hakkenden
TV, 1999, 26 eps Me:- Author:7
Classic feeling 90s sci-fi adventure with a flowing narrative, good world building, and solid character arcs.
Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z-hen

Very strange and dark modern take on the first piloted mecha series ever.

A very serviceable mecha action series - on all fronts
Shirogane no Ishi: Argevollen
TV, 2014, 24 eps Me:- Author:6
An overall solid modern mecha, real robot series! Doesn't reinvent the wheel, but at least it can be taken seriously and it's not an unwatchable dumpster-fire like most mecha post 2010.
Spriggan (ONA)
ONA, 2022, 6 eps Me:- Author:6
Crazy flashy action series with impressive choreography. Includes some commentary about war and the human condition. Better than the (even more impressively animated) 90s movie.

Surprisingly good political thriller
