A collection of the short movies based on the 1979 Doraemon TV series, released between 1998-2002 in conjunction with its main movies. These are five short movies directed by Ayumu Watanabe that adapt a few chapters of the original manga into anime, selected based on its emotional content.
1998: Kaette Kita Doraemon ("Come Home Doraemon")「帰ってきたドラえもん」
1999: Nobita no Kekkon Zenya ("Nobita's Night Before The Wedding")「のび太の結婚前夜」
2000: Obaachan no Omoide ("Memories of Grandma")「おばあちゃんの思い出」
2001: Ganbare! Gian!! ("You Can Do It Gian!!")「がんばれ！ジャイアン！！」
2002: Boku no Umareta Hi ("The Day I Was Born")「ぼくの生まれた日」
They are all worth a watch if you are looking for tear-jerker Ooyama-era Doraemon movies. They show a different perspective of Nobita and are really interesting.
