"The Coppersmith's Bride" is also a nice read, the main character is a coppersmith and very stoic which affects his ability to express himself in his art, however, his bride and childhood friend is the only person who makes him truly comfortable, which in turn helps him make better "metal pottery", it's also cool that the story start when they are already engaged :)

I really recommend "15 Minutes 'Til They Actually Start Dating" for the actual dating part of the relationship, since it really explores the concept well, it has a mix of both good and present and past experiences of the couple, cute moments, a satisfying ending, and it's a relatively short read (with only 4 manga volumes and 45 chapters)

e drama is well thought out and the interactions with the supporting cast are also very good, they all feel genuinely close, the romance is also great (especially if you are a fan of the childhood friend trope like I am) but I have to say, the art is okay, but not really anything fantastic or super unique.

"My Clueless First Friend" focuses more on the wholesome vibe of two childhood friends having fun together, in their actual childhood, yeah they develop mutual crushes, but they are little kids, so don't expect too much development in the romance department since they too young for anything serious to happen, but when it comes to the pure and wholesome fun of seeing two kids have their first crush and have no idea of what to do, then this is the perfect pick, it's like the backstory to every childhood friend story lol

It's also an action manga, but the romance development along the series is amazing, it definitely stands out as having one of the best romance stories in an action manga, (both of the main characters have a different, but great love interest, one of them is a childhood friend, and the other is an enemy, to friend, to lover).

I'd say it has a weaker romance than the previous ones, but it does have some great romance scenes sprinkled throughout what is mostly action/comedy of the manga

It's basically the "gamers" of friends-to-lovers/childhood friends subgenre, which means if you like misunderstanding-based comedies like me, then you will love it, but if not, this won't be for you

great pacing for a romance, it's not too fast or too slow, the dynamics between both main characters are really cute, and the side characters are also good, I like how the actual common background of growing up in the slums is for the rest of the story and the characters connections, the childhood of the childhood friends actually matters

side note: but I love how the art style uses more realistic skin textures and hands during the serious parts of the story, it helps setting the right tone when it needs to

you know those side characters that usually don't appear a lot, but are supposed to be the best friend of one of the protagonists of a romance anime, well, in this, that friend is the main character, and the romance takes place in a power ranger like setting, and his best friend was secretly a girl in disguise, that is in love with him, so yeahthis was a fun and quick read.

Oh, and here is the official synopsis: My first impression of Ryuuga was "This is the kind of protagonist you'd see in something like an anime." Then, that thought soon changed into conviction. First of all, this guy almost never talks about his past. Also, he frequently slips out of class. As soon as he comes back, he gets extremely tired, blood comes out from his lips, the sleeves and cuffs of his uniform get torn, and so forth. Furthermore, there's always beauties that are surrounding Ryuuga. The one who's like an idol within the school, Shiori Yukimiya. The cool expert of the sword, Rei Aogasaki. The mysterious transfer student, Elmira McCartney. It's very tiring for me when these people appear in front of Ryuuga. I have to frantically make a fuss by saying things like "H-hey Ryuga! How did you get acquainted with Yukimiya!" and "W-why did the beautiful swordswoman Aogasaki come to the classroom to specifically meet Ryuga?!" or "E-E-Elmira! What is it that you see in Ryuga?!"

...so why am I doing this? That's because I, Ichirou Kobayashi, am a pro at being a friend. My life's calling is to support Ryuuga Hinomori, the protagonist among protagonists, as a close friend character.

I usually don't like love stories where the friends spent a long time not talking, I mean, I know it happens IRL, but what is the point reading a friends to lovers romance if they don't start as friend but as strangers? that'ss just a normal romance lol, Well thankfully this avoids all of those problems, even though they didn't talk for a while, they do quickly get back in to the groove of their friendship, and the series also does a good job exploring what happened while they weren't talking with each other, so it doesn't feel like there is a gaping whole in the character's past (which sometimes happens in similar stories) , also, I usually also hate contract marriages is, but the writing in this one is just so good and so funny that it didn't bother me, so that says a lot about how good the series is, since two tropes that are usually dealbreakers for me, actually didn't bother me at all
