Synopsis

With the upcoming inter high basketball tournament coming up, Akira Takashiro and Eiji Kudou declared a competition: whoever scores more points in the tournament will confess to Miku Aizawa, the girl they both have had a crush on since childhood. However, just as the rivalry was to be resolved, an earthquake knocks Akira out. When he wakes up, he finds hideous monsters swarming his school, leaving tons of corpses and blood on the ground...

Where is Eiji? What is happening? And why? As he moves on, shocking revelations will be unveiled, and maybe there's something deeper that the government is hiding.

You will not, ever in the course of reading this manga, ever guess who the real main character is. It will tickle the back of your mind, nagging at you that there is a recess of information hidden from you but the absurdity of this hypothetical makes it all the more unlikely so you're left in a state of false confidence that you know what is truly going on whilst hidden machinations are at play. You tell yourself, surely a manga wouldn't let THAT PERSON be the main character you delude yourself, your denial is reinforced by the handsome "protagonist" the story follows ...

i will say, the beginning of this manga is good and just what you think it is. a horror story about surviving a monster apocalypse. but as the story goes on, it starts to go from a survival horror to a gory shonen that has no idea what it wants to be.

after about 30 chapters, the story jumps the shark and starts to become Gants and Parasite the maximum.

after another 16 chapters, it becomes a kaiju battle with a little Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann thrown into the mix.

it then just keeps going from their with the story not knowing what it wants to ...

The manga starts interestingly but quickly declines.
Seems like it will be a survival of students, but then the military joins, super soldiers, hybrid of human-monsters, giant monsters, the escalation of power is beyond dragon ball and very quickly. One volume students are running on the street, the next one world is doomed and super-mega-hyper monsters are coming in the hundreds, while a madman scientist is doing crazy experiments.
Very cliche, and the dialogues incredibly cliche an cheesy, about this girl giving me the willpower to keep going and fighting.
