After catching up with the series, I can definitely say... that it's cute, very cute!
And at the same time not made for everyone, so I'll just rip the bandage off.

What people might think by reading the synopsis about writing puns is for this to be a full on comedy/gag manga, which it isn't! This is more akin to a slice of life romance with a very unconventional sport-like theme (probably the closest thing resembling this on jump is the Rakugo from Akane-Banashi).
So don't expect to laugh-out-loud from the jokes themselves, at most they'll give you a "heh" out of you, but that's not the real ...

This manga is supposed to be a comedy, but the humor just doesn’t land. Most of the jokes fall flat, so anyone expecting something genuinely funny will probably be disappointed.

The romance is cute and easily the most enjoyable part, but it’s not strong enough to carry everything on its own. There’s not much depth, and it doesn’t really make up for the other weak points.

The story also lacks a clear sense of direction, which makes it hard to stay invested. On top of that, the main character’s motivation feels pretty weak and unconvincing, so it’s difficult to really care about what’s happening or root for ...

I TRIED to like the series. I even tried to give myself a couple of weeks to see if it was just first chapter jitters, or if it was the series. And turns out, it was the series that was the problem within this situation. Now, there were TWO things that were redeemable about this series that made me not wanna drop it out right, even if I wanted to.

The things that are redeemable are (In my opinion):
- The character designs are cute/interesting. You can tell that the characters were made to be on the "cuter" side, and that does somewhat help.
