Synopsis

When Nagyunn's twin brother, Najin, is murdered before his very eyes, he vows to avenge his brother's death by assuming Najin's identity. But although the two may look alike, when it comes to fighting, Nagyunn lacks the talent and skill his brother possessed. In order to successfully execute his plot for revenge, Nagyunn resolves to train himself to become the prodigious knight-in-training his brother once was. Will Nagyunn be able to keep his identity a secret before others begin to catch on to his act?

This series is quite something. At first it might seem just like any regular revenge story, but as it goes on, you realise it is much more than that.

It is a stream of will, the clashes and intersections of ambitions and volitions. Some people complain about the somewhat lackluster worldbuilding, but I believe that is not the highlight of this series. It's the characters and their interactions. And not just direct ones, you can see how people influence others, the effects of situations and their outcomes. As a veteran reader of manhwas, I’ve gone through countless stories, but Ember Knight truly stands out. It’s connected to another work by the same author, and the world-building here is both rich and engaging. Every character feels like they genuinely belong in the story, each contributing meaningfully to the plot and setting.

The story feels very bland, and the definition of PLOT ARMOR. Mid at best.

Worldbuilding: Very mid, even though there are some interesting mysteries about this world. I hated how the author is not showing us anything about this interesting world, how everybody asks unnecessary questions about the environment but not the important stuff we as readers care about. WE ARE 156 chapters into the story and we still do not know the dynamic between the continents and the politics surrounding the characters.
