Compared to the first volume, this story focuses way more on the main characters' romance, with the workplace side of the story mostly being placed as a conflict of sorts.
I think the storytelling is still good, and I do relish on the fluffy fuwafuwa raburabuness of it all. On top of that, I also appreciate how the sequel fleshes out the uke more. But...
Somehow I can't help feeling that the sequel ends up looking a bit more generic than the first volume.
I think it's because in the end, the character archetypes for both main characters are very standard.
And the conflict of the story primarily
...
centers on the characters' relationship, but it's still a pretty standard conflict of 'how can I be worthy for my beloved' and 'uuu should I focus on work or being together with my lover'. Add the (completely unnecessary) love rival in the third volume, and the characters doesn't get to grow MUCH as an individual outside the relationship beyond 'yes I have to work harder so we can stand beside each other as equals' and 'uwu I so cherish you both in work and outside it'.
Overall it's still a delightful story, but I'm definitely rating the first volume better than this one
