Synopsis

The "God of High School" is a fierce competition held between Korean high school students to determine the best fighter among them. All styles of martial arts and weapons are allowed. The ultimate prize? The winner's deepest desire will be granted, no matter the cost.

Jin Mo-Ri has been training in taekwondo under his grandfather from a young age. Obsessed with fighting, he enters the tournament to find and challenge stronger opponents. Along the way, he meets Han Dae-Wi, an expert in karate who is determined to become the champion to help his friend who is between life and death, and Yu Mi-Ra, a skilled swordswoman who wants to continue her family's legacy.

Although this tournament seems simple, what more lies in store for Jin Mo-Ri and his friends? And will they be prepared to face what may come to pass?

BackgroundThe God of High School is originally a webtoon which was officially published in paperbook format by ImageFrame/Root (길찾기) since January 31, 2017.

The series has been simulpub in English by LINE Webtoon since July 1, 2014, and in print by Wattpad Webtoon Studios under its Webtoon Unscrolled imprint since October 17, 2023.

When I was reading God of Highschool I had a friend who was always depressed an then he read it and sone white mayonnaise came out of nowhere in his screen he told me that after the day he has begun to read this peak what I was trying to say is that god of high school is a life saver I love this series so much hahahaha it’s too funny I recommend it everyone I know and everyone say it’s good so to everyone who say it’s trash please think again and maybe think what you can do better because only losers don’t like ...

The story starts out good, characters are growing as chapter progresses & the pacing is just right, unlike the anime which is rushed. But as you reach the end of the first season (or chapter as how it is defined by the author) everything becomes overblown, everyone is now overpowered, & there are things that doesn't make a sense. Though it will be explained later on, you will see the inconsistencies. A lot of times as well, a character will have a super power revealed (that is overkill) & will only be explained after a few chapters has passed. It's also somehow off-putting that everything ...

It's really sad the story's premise is so good I love the idea of the story so much. Dispite the amazing art, the story is not worth the read. Character who need to be developed are not and boring characters that add nothing to the story get too much. The writing is so bad it seems the writer didn't know what they really wanted to do. Focusing on side characters one second with minimum development but expecting the reader to care(r). 500+ characters and so many pointless strings that didn't need to be written to make the same story. Alot of hype for little payoff ...
