Synopsis

Zaha Sanko's body has great and terrible powers–they say that possessing his bones will grant you any wish, even the desire to become ruler of the universe. But Sanko is still a teenage dude with his own life, and he isn't about to let every monstrous lowlife in the galaxy rip him limb from limb. He and his skeletal buddy Avakian will use their dark powers to fend off any murder attempts while they search space for whomever put this curse on Sanko's bones...because killing them might end the madness. (And then Sanko can celebrate with his favorite spaghetti.)

If you've read Dorohedoro you should have an idea of what you're getting into.

Ultra-creative, ultra-violent combination of horror, comedy and sci-fi.

This mangaka has a style that is so idiosyncratic and bizzare that it's almost hypnotizing.

This new adventure shows that she is hitting her stride and it's been a blast so far.

We've only scratched the surface of what I'd wager will become an awesome story.

I noticed that at the time I am writing this, no one else has reviewed the artistic genius that is Dai Dark--and so I have come to answer the call. This is also the first review I've written on MAL despite the fact I've used it for like 2 years.

Anyways, to summarize the manga in a few words: beautiful, dark, and morbidly funny. The concept of Dai Dark is so weird and out-of-nowhere, but the worldbuilding is fantastic and it makes you want to learn more. i read dai dark because i looooveeeee dorohedoro so much! if you do like dorohedoro, you might like this one as well. but if you’re hoping it’s going to be a lot like dorohedoro... maybe don’t expect too much like i did :p

q hayashida’s art is still gorgeous as ever! the character designs, background art, and everything about her art style are so good!!! gritty, macabre, and surreal with a side of silliness… the way it’s always been. i really love how much more grotesque and creepy the creatures here — they’re like actual horror beings! plus the story takes place in space too! how ...
