March 29th, 2026. I'm a little late into my timezone getting to this, but today marks the official passing of Zekken, Yuuki Konno. I first watched S2 in December 2014 and that brief time with Mother's Rosario has had a profound impact that has lasted me nearly half a lifetime. I've rewatched Mother's Rosario every December since 2018, I read the manga, and I've also played a couple of the SAO games to get to know Yuuki better from that perspective as well. Lasting me nearly half a lifetime, Mother's Rosario has become one of my most beloved animanga arcs.

Thank you Yuuki. Be at peace in your next adventure.

Well, that's a rare sight. That arc was the most hated arc in the entire series. Good for you to like it.

Bruh, how can it be the most hated, when there is so many other terrible arcs to chose from?

Fairy Dance is 100% more hated than Mother’s Rosario. I didn’t exactly hate it, it honestly just feels more forgettable. Aincrad is the most famous, Fairy Dance is probably the most infamous, I feel like Gun Gale was honestly that horrendous that people forgot about Mother’s Rosario because it wasn’t nearly as offensive as the prior 2 arcs, but didn’t have the missed potential Aincrad had. I’m not gonna lie this series is so full of straight ass or missed potential that I kinda forget about the decent parts cause there isn’t anything fun to pick apart about them. Like Mother’s Rosario and the second half of WoU

Mother’s Rosario is truly one of the most memorable arcs in Sword Art Online, and it has left a lasting impression on me as well. One aspect that stands out is its opening theme, “Courage”, beautifully performed by Haruka Tomatsu, which, in my opinion, is one of the best openings in the entire series. In fact, Sword Art Online reaches a certain peak in moments like these; not only does the ending theme of Season 1 resonate deeply, but the openings from Seasons 1 through 3 are consistently enjoyable and fit the anime perfectly.

Yuuki Konno’s story, in particular, carries a powerful message. Her final moments highlight how the virtual world became a place of strength and freedom, compensating for the frailty of her real-life condition. Yet, despite that strength, her story ultimately reminds us of the inevitability of parting, leaving behind a bittersweet sense of acceptance.

For me, Sword Art Online remains something truly special. It was at its peak during those years, and it created unforgettable memories not only for me, but also for my friends who experienced it together. If some people dislike the series, I honestly do not know what more to say; for me, it will always stand as one of the best anime I have ever experienced.
