In the wake of Aqua’s deliberate leak, Ai’s carefully crafted lie is finally exposed. What was once a secret meant to safeguard her children turns into a nationwide revelation. This ignites a media frenzy and feeds the public’s endless appetite for scandal. Headlines spread quickly, talk shows analyze every detail, and fans are left questioning everything they thought they knew about their favorite idol.

However, beneath the spectacle lies something much more painful. For many, Ai’s confession destroys an illusion; for others, it feels like betrayal. The truth, though long hidden, cuts deeply especially for those who loved her most.

Ruby, who remains devoted to Ai and clings to the image of the glowing mother she admired, is shaken to her core. Torn between admiration and confusion, she struggles to reconcile the dazzling idol with the flawed young woman behind the spotlight. As emotions rise and tensions build, “Plan” prepares for a confrontation not only with the public but also with the fragile truths holding the Hoshino family together.

That Ending gave us CHILLS.....Hikaru Kamiki you're definitely the most dangerous one....

We ALL stand with Ruby here. The fact the Red Rat’s poor decision making and self victimization forced Aqua to expose Ai’s secret still pisses me off even though I knew it was coming. “Everybody’s a damn liar. I don’t consider you family anymore Aqua.” And who tf can blame her? When Aqua asked her if she was willing to do anything to save Arima, how would she know that meant revealing the BIGGEST secret in the Japanese entertainment industry and endangering them/putting targets on their backs?? Not to mention, for Ruby who worships Ai, it’s almost blasphemous to betray her like that. It’s also even funnier because kana herself is about to leave B Komachi so they might as well have just let it happen and have that be her out. She doesn’t even wanna be an idol. Talking about some “If you’re gonna make me your fave do it now.” Bitch bye

Red Rat hate aside, this does get Aqua closer to his revenge and as we see later in the episode, Hikaru needs to be stopped before he kills even more people. We also will finally get to hear Ai’s truth in the form of the 15 year lie which she always wanted. Everyone loved and idolized the persona of Hoshino Ai, but few people ever saw her for who she really was. A normal, scared teenaged girl who happened to be extremely talented and ended up becoming the symbol of a generation. So while Aqua did betray Ruby’s trust, I do think this ultimately is a good decision because the public should know the pressure idols like Ai are constantly under.

Speaking of Kamiki holy shit that ending was insane. Rip Yuya, the fact bro gets off on killing up and coming celebs and seeing their light be extinguished.. he HAS to be put down, no other way about it.

However, the logic falls on deaf ears. Consumed by rage and grief, Ruby declares that she can no longer see Aqua as family. The rift between the twins has never been wider is this the point of no return for their relationship?

What an amazing episode yet again!
Ruby no longer sees Aqua as family and hates him for ruining Ai's reputation and Saitou is also not happy, felt bad for Aqua there
Gotanda filimed a B-Komachi documentary but it never got released due to Ai's death, it was sad when he felt bad about not reaching out to help her
Gotanda and Aqua are going to make a movie based on Ai's death?! I wonder why they're doing this, but im guessing its a way for Aqua to get revenge on Hikaru
I knew that actress was familiar, we saw her dead at the end of season 2
Kamiki Hikaru gets pleasure from killing by "extinguishing" their light which seems to be their talent and determination, is he jealous of them?
Honestly cant wait to see what's going to happen next

Obvious reaction from Ruby, she's a die hard fangirl. Nice interactions with Kana. And great to have more Ai, always. Seems as if everyone and their mother is possessed by Ai, me included, even Hikaru Kamiki himself. That ending, he's estinguishing the star lights from people by killing them.

Aqua and Kana finally had a normal conversation. Well, as normal as it can get. But I'm really happy for them. Looks like Kana's misunderstanding was finally cleared.

Looks like Aqua and Ruby's popularity skyrocketed after the reveal. People are also more sympathetic to them, which I guess is a good thing. But there are still trolls who're mad at Ai... Bruh. I bet if this had been revealed when Ai was murdered, the situation probably would've been the opposite of now. Some of the toxic stans probably would've supported the murderers. The toxicity of Japanese "fans" is on another level.

It feels good to see Ai again, even if it's through a flashback. I wonder what her "real" self was like. I don't think it was shown before.

I'm glad Aqua won't be satisfied with just killing him like I wanted. But wonder how they're gonna get back at Ai's killer by just making a movie. By slandering him? I doubt a psycho like him cares about stuff like that. And it's very risky.

I thought that girl looked too familiar. When I saw that blonde guy, and then she called him Miki, it all clicked. Crazy how they included that scene at the end of Season 2. It wasn't even really relevant back then, so I don't get why. Still sucks to see an up-and-coming actress die like that again. That bastard Kamiki more than deserves a far worse death.

This budget Hamlet farce is mind-boggingly dumb... The genius serial killer leaves a lot of footprints, chanting around the victim. Definitely won't be caught. Btw, if you think a national top star actress goes hiking alone, I have the Akashi-Kaikyo bridge to sell you. Their agency has very strict terms in the contract, since they are insured for (tens of) millions of dollars.

Plus the only really interesting character in the OnK story, Arima Kana doesn't get enough screentime. If the anime studio had any wit, they would make a spin-off series about the Adolescense of Arima, a sure hit. She has the personality, life experience and a backstory enough to fill volumes.

Aqua's revenge plan is back on the menu, how well cooked is that– years of making with all the right people to 'help' him in it, a documentary based on Ai and the cast members are the people we've known so far... except for the unlucky star ☆ that became that sick bastard's latest victim.

It was nice to see Ai back on screen, how are there only 3 episodes left..

Well we’re finally entering the movie arc and I believe this is where the fall off began. I doubt that they’ll change things to fix the remaining story.

The tension in this episode was very real. Aqua's move was a ballsy one and it was going to have him clash with others one way or another. Ruby's anger at him for what he's done and even going as far as to say that she doesn't see him as family anymore must've stung badly. Still, that won't make any change to his plans whatsoever. He and Gotanda together are planning a movie based on the true events of Ai and this plan looks to be steamrolling ahead since Gotanda was able to record a lot of footage of the old B-Komachi group, including Ai showing her "true" self to his camera.

While the plan involved thinking as to which actors would be involved, one of them, Yura, was sadly the latest victim of the sick and twisted Hikaru. This depraved man needs to be stopped as soon as possible before someone else becomes his next victim.

On a happier note, it was really nice to see Aqua and Kana talking to each other in the same room once again and their chat went pretty well. Kana does plan to quit being an idol at some point in the future as she strives to go all in for acting once again. Her smile towards Aqua here was really sweet. =)

It'll be interesting to see how the next arc will play out. As an anime-only, I'm pretty intrigued into hearing people saying that this is where the series falls off. I doubt that the anime will change things from the original source material, so I do look forward to seeing what comes next and whether I'll agree with their opinion on this matter or not.

OMG, I now realize the potential this series had is just insane. This part of OnK really set the high bar and has infinite amount of potential to have the best final arc and conclusion, but alas it never get to reach it’s potential.

I feel so disappointed that Im about to face the same situation again. We are currently at prime oshi no ko arcs and its about to go downhill with the final arc. Like watching season 3 felt like Im back to the days where OnK was at one time the best manga OAT for me, but this time I know full well the terrible disappointing thing that’s gonna happen.

Like not only plot wise or story direction, the characters were literally ruined as well. I know anime only watchers will think this series is peak cuz I also think it is as of right now, but when it goes to those parts, it kinda hurts to see people suffer the same situation as manga readers.

I love when a show introduces another potiential main character and kill them off. It does keep the show interesting and on a good pace, especially in comparison to the previous season. Rather than a cliff hanger it was more of a cliff faller *BA DUM TISH*

TBF only Ruby should be mad at Aqua, not anyone else, it's their story to tell.

This is the most disappointing episode of the season. Although disappointing doesn't mean it's bad, it's just that season 3 is my favorite season and of course I have high expectations.

They butchered my favorite panel, the liar liar liar one. Throughout Ruby and Aqua's conversation in this episode, it feels rushed, even though in previous episodes they can deliver. At least the seiyuu carries the scene.

Well, it's like almost the entire episode lacks emotion even though it's visually stunning and has peak voice acting (water is wet).

ah yes the GOAT Mamoru Miyano. the greatest male seiyuu, imho.

Looks like the hunt for Aqua's and Ruby's father and Ai's murderer is getting close to its climax and im very interested in how its gonna play out! The way this episode was tied with the mysterious ending of the second season was really cool and I also really like Hikaru's voice actor, you can just tell by listening to him that he is putting on a fake persona and masking his true nature behind honeyed words.

Also, shame that we lost this character because her design is really nice and I liked her bubbly personality too because it kind of reminded me about Ai, then again maybe that's exactly why Hikaru specifically went after her...

Feels like were really closing in on the end of the show now, really not surprised Ruby crashed out on Aqua like that I would have absolutely done the same thing. Especially when you consider even in Ruby's first life Ai was really all she ever had.

I knew immediately when I saw who would take the lead role were this was going, don't think I forgot how season 2 ended. Yuya has way to distinct a design for me to forget her death at the end of season 2.

The cliffhanger with Hikaru there is something else. It makes it blatant that he is just a pure psycopath and a true villain to follow. Yura got done dirty there with her death but it is what it is. Movie arc time and the major end game is on with this series. Wonder how much Doga Kobo can work its magic on how rough the manga part of this arc was, to save it.

They actually omitted some Kana & MEM scenes, but honestly, it's probably for the best LMAO.
I mean, I get that Kana fans would've laughed and mocked all the Akane fanboys out there, myself included, had they kept those scenes. But with how fantastic Megumi Han's delivery was during Kana's breakdown, I think it's better to leave those moments out to highlight her growth and maturity even more.

Didn't expect that switch between Chapter 110 and 109, but WOW. IT'S BLOODY SMOOTH AF!

Ruby's anger is justified and Aqua would have saw that coming and did it anyway. Seeing them at odds is really painful to watch.
It boosted the popularity of Ai's children and let Aqua to plan his final act of taking down Hikaru. That scene when the camera was focusing on Aqua's eyes when he was speaking about killing Ai's murderer to Ichigo gave me the chills.
Gotanda directing Ai's life with Kaburagi producing it..the movie would turn to be a great hit and Kaburagi knows it. Gotanda wants to fulfil Ai's wish for the world to know about the true Ai.
Yura's introduction made me wonder if I had seen her before and guess what she was the one who got killed by Hikaru at the end of last season..damn !!
Did he kill her for the reason that she's about the play the lead role in that movie of Ai ?
And I guess this sicko is putting an end to the light in the girls' eyes just to get closer to the feeling that he had when he killed Ai. Even a thousand painful deaths wouldn't suffice as a punishment for this bastard.

Oshio no Ko Season 3 Ep 8 is a game-changer.

The episode kicks off with the media frenzy about Aqua and Ruby being Ai's kids. Ruby's anger boils over as she confronts Aqua about revealing Ai's secrets. Aqua's calm response - it was the only way to save Arima - doesn't sit well with Ruby. She accuses him of loving Ai more than her and disowns him, calling him a liar.

Arima's conversation with Aqua reveals his troubled past and Aqua's fragile nature. Meanwhile, Ruby's interview shows her determination to fulfill Ai's unrealized dream of performing at Tokyo Dome.

The plot thickens with Ichigo Saitou's rage and Aqua's cryptic reveal about knowing Ai's killer. He enlists Ichigo's help to exact a slow-burning revenge.

Aqua's plan to bring Ai's story to life through a movie, "The 15-Year Lie," takes shape. The cast? Ruby, Mem, Arima, Akane, and more. But there's a twist: Yura Katayose as Ai. And Yura's eerie past with Hikaru Kamiki raises alarms. Yura used to meet a guy named Miki, who was none other than Hikaru, at a bar. After a drink, he warned her to be careful in the mountains, saying "they might never find her if something goes wrong" - a chilling foreshadow of her fate. Kamiki's words still echo - "Her lights gone out... Ai".
