Ultimate: Hello Robert aka SweetAmandine :3 I’m glad you can be here today! :) Sweet: Hello o/ Ultimate: How are you today? :3 Sweet: I'm alright, enjoying a quiet and relaxing weekend. Ultimate: Thanks in advance. ^_^ Could you tell us about yourself? Sweet: Sure. My name is Robert Mihai but most of my friends call me Robert or Rob. I am from Romania. I study mathematics and informatics, working in C++. I have one more year until graduation but I'm still not sure what I want to do after that. I started watching anime around 2015 during summer vacation, my first anime being Tokyo Ghoul. At the time, I was very into anime and I was trying to watch it in every free second, but I slowly started to "run out of steam" and watched less and less. I rarely watch anime nowadays. Because of my past, I'm a very shy and anti-social person. I am having quite a bit of trouble having to talk with strangers but I feel like I'm slowly coming out of my shell. I tend to give people an impression that I'm not interested or just bored when I talk to them, but that's because I don't know what to say most of the times. When talking to someone I'm comfortable with, I'm pretty easy-going and energetic, sometimes even being mischievous, but I can be serious too when needed. I spend most of my free time playing video games and talking with my friends. How did you choose your username? Sweet: My first username was Robert_Mihai, and since it's my real name, there isn't much to talk about it. My current username, SweetAmandine has a bit of a story behind it, but it's not very interesting, so I'll fast forward a bit through some parts. When Monia Cafe was holding an election for it's Prime Minister (PM for short), I was one of the most popular contestants, which was very surprising. The fight for the top was tough and in the end I came in as second, losing to @Norilla. There isn't any big special motive for choosing this name. I wanted to add "Sweet" to my name for quite a bit of time and "Amandine" was one of my most popular nicknames at the time, which was fitting the name theme. Because of a bet I made during the election, most people thought that it was part of my punishment. Could you give us a brief history of your time on MAL? Sweet: There isn't much to say about my time on MAL. I joined on the 14th of February 2015 and for the first months in, I only used it for the list function, never going out in the forums. After some time I made a simple set and went around exploring the forums. I wasn't really popular or making friends, but at the time, I remember getting along with @Ardanaz after I made a card for him since we both played Hearthstone. One day, I received a random invitation to Monia Café, and even though at the time I thought I wouldn't fit in, I quickly fell in love with the Café, made friends and had a really good time. Other than the PM Election, there weren't any notable events in my time on MAL. Ultimate: I see ^_^ Well, life is full of possibilities so you might find more interesting stuff in the future ;3 Any users you like/dislike? Why? Sweet: I'm not going to talk about the users I dislike. It merges with the same thing I said above. Ultimate: It's fine, some people don't answer that. :3 Sweet: As for the people I like: Firstly, I'll start with @SweetMonia since they also mentioned me in their interview and I have quite a bit to say about them. Out of all the people, I think Monia influenced me the most during my time on MAL and I even called them my "MAL Mentor". While some people disagree with Monia's way of doing things when it comes to leading the Café, I find our ideas to be pretty similar. I also like how they can be both forgiving and strict (though rarely) depending on the situation. As Monia said, we talk about all sorts of things from animals, traveling, the Café, etc. @Roroline - Roro is the person that I talk the most now. In the beginning, I didn't think that we would get along but the more I learned about her the more I found out that we're quite similar and with time I started to develop feelings for her. I could keep on going talking about her and sounding cheesy but I think it's better if I don't :3 @Mochigi - My nii-san and one of my best friends on MAL. Even though he likes to tease me a lot and makes weird jokes sometimes, he'll always be one of my best friends and I'll always talk to him. @Stand_Alone_Void - Again, one of my best friends and one of the first people I met in the Cafe. He's a cool person and fun to play games with. He's rarely seen on MAL lately, but I still keep contact with him on Discord. @Norilla - Same as Void, a good friend and one of the first people I met in the Cafe. He's a sweet person and I enjoy talking to him :3 @SweetMetal - My first kouhai. He'll always have a special place amongst my kouhais. Since I can keep this going on forever, the last people I'll just tag are: @KorudoKun, @UltimateDeath :3, @Azer0la, @BlankNote, (Possibly current account: @Blanchy ) @Dyurna, @Rinrinka, @R-unknown, @Dustter, @-fujo-, @misery, @Kyokisama, @CecaniahCorabele, @Shirosune, and many others :3 How did you get into anime/manga? Sweet: An old friend tried to get me into it and made me watch Highschool of The Dead while I was staying over at his house… and that had quite the opposite effect xD For a time, I refused to watch anything he'd recommend me. Even now, I refuse to say that HoTD is the first anime that I watched. After some time, I decided to give anime another chance and decided to watch Tokyo Ghoul, since it was rather popular at the time. I fell in love with it and started to binge anime, quickly falling in love with it. I think I got into manga a year ago, my first manga being probably Deadman Wonderland. Lately, I mostly read manga since it's easier to read while traveling a lot to and from school. How do you feel about how the site is run? Especially in regards to the moderators and admins. Sweet: I don't really go out in the community forums but I don't have any complaints. From my experience, the admins and moderators do a pretty good job at keeping this place from total anarchy and they deserve a bit more respect. I have never felt like they haven't provided enough information when doing something. Who were the first people you felt a little more comfortable in coming out of your shell? Did that moment/meeting have an impact on you in letting other people interact with you? Sweet: I don't think of it as a few people helping me be more sociable, but rather, as the good experience that everyone I talked to created. Though, if I were to name a few, it would be the same people I named in the question about the users I like, though I'd have to add @Ardanaz too since he was one of the first people that I talked to when I started going around the forums. What other hobbies do you have outside of anime/manga and MAL? Sweet: I play a lot of video games. Though I haven't played much lately, I'm a big fan of League of Legends and I've been playing it for about four to five years. I play single player games most of the time, some of my favourite games being The Wolf Among Us, Shovel Knighti, XCom Enemy Unknown, and Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne. When I'm not playing games, I like to search about different things about either Medieval Europe or War World 2 and 1. I sometimes go out with my friends too, but since there's quite a bit of distance between us, I don't meet up with them very often. I don't really do anything special or very time-consuming in my free time since studies and resting takes a lot of time from my days. What kind of movies do you watch? And which movies is your favorite? Sweet: I'm not a filmophile, so I don't really watch films nor do I have a favourite genre of films, though I avoid romance and drama. My favourite films are Saving Private Ryan, a WW2 film that follows United States Army Rangers Captain John H. Miller and a squad, as they search for Private First Class James Francis Ryan, a paratrooper and the last surviving son of his family. I admit, I almost cried near the end T^T My second favourite film is Rocky Balboa. It was a very inspirational film for me, and I think about it when I need the energy to get through tough periods. An honourable mention would be Real Steel, not the best film but I really enjoyed it. Ultimate: I love the Balboa Movies too, though I never did watch the latest one :3 I only watched the first one. Sweet: I keep telling myself that, I'll watch the others too, but I get busy and forget. Ultimate: Yeah I know that feeling :3 Do you read / research only history, or do you also take interest in mythology like Greek heroes, Egyptian gods etc.? Sweet: I used to be very interested in Greek mythology, and it's part of the inspiration for my Discord name. I used to read a lot about the Greek gods and I know very much about most of them. I even played a lot of Smite during that time, with my favourite gods from the Greek Pantheon to play as, being Thanatos and Zeus. I still read about mythology from time to time, though it's not as limited as it was before. I'm also a big fan of the Roman Empire and know a thing or two about their gods, though it's very basic stuff. However, I was never a big fan of Ancient Egypt or their mythology, so I haven't read a lot about it. You have posted on forums about 13.4K posts... did you ever think that you would reach that number in just about two years? What do you think about it? Sweet: This is going to be a short answer >~< I don't really pay that much attention to my post count, so I never thought about how many posts I would get in two years. It's a lot of posts and maybe I would've been able to get 20k before 2018 if I didn't have some personal problems that kept me off MAL for like 3/4 of the year. Ultimate: I see :| Sweet: I just don't have anything to say about it, since I don't care much about my post count. Do you have any goals in life, something you aspire to be or a life you wish you have? Sweet: For me, it's easier to have many short term goals that I can work towards, eventually reaching my big goal, rather than a big long term plan. My current goal is to pass my graduation exam, and study either databases or networking. My secondary goal would be to become an entrepreneur or just invest in the market depending on how things will evolve in the future. As for what I wish to have, it's probably a quiet and peaceful life for me and my family, doing a job that I like, and being able to spend time with them. I don't have anything big or flashy in mind. Ultimate: Cool :3 What kind of music do you listen to? Sweet: It depends a lot on how I feel, but it's usually different type of rocks. Lately I've been listening mostly to Rainbow, Man O' War and Slipknot, though I listen to things like rap, dubstep, drum and bass, and OSTs too. I don't like nightcore and pop, and they are some of those music genres, that I just can't get into. I'm quite picky about what songs I listen to, so I don't change artists/bands often. Do you see yourself leaving MAL in the near future? Sweet: I don't think I'll leave MAL in the future, but my activity will get lower or higher depending on real life stuff. I will take a big break in the near future since I have to prepare for exams, though I'll still be around from time to time to talk to people. No matter how busy I get, I also try to find some time to get on MAL and talk to my friends there. Ultimate: That sounds good ^_^ Any feedback on the interview format? Sweet: It's a pretty good format and I found it easy to answer all questions. I don't have any complaints about it, since I didn't feel like I needed to pass questions or felt discomfort from them. I can't think of any tip or criticism at the moment. Sweet: The people were already interviewed, or refused to be interviewed :/ Ultimate: I see, well, that's too bad -w- Sweet: Can't force them to be interviewed if they don't want to. It's not a CIA interrogation :) Ultimate: Yeah, there is two who I wanted to interview, but they didn't wanna because of personal reasons, There was also one who wanted their interview removed :3 Sweet: Agree :3 Is there something unasked you would like to talk about? Sweet: Can't think of anything, maybe I'll come back to this, after I hear the questions from the users ^^ Ultimate: Ok, cool ;3 Sweet: Can I ask you something? Ultimate: Yes :3 Sweet: From time to time, I make some collectible badges, and since this is a bit of a special event, I want to make one for it to, would it be alright, if I attached the badge to the interview, so that the people who read it can "claim it"? Ultimate: I'm still new to this MAL Interviewer Thingy, but I don't see any problems in that ;3 Sweet: Alright, I'll send the badge later :3 Ultimate: Ok, cool ;3 I said it again! >w< I had a bit of inspiration, so here's the Crepe Badge :3 Ultimate: Got some sent in questions :3 What are your thoughts on yanderes? Sweet: For me yanderes are very hit or miss. I find them very interesting and prefer them over the other types of deres, but when I'm watching an anime, I'm not thinking: "if it had a yandere, it would be better." They are like spices on food, you can have it without them and it's still good, but if you add too much, you'll ruin it. And I think I'd rather have other types of deres in real life... for safety reasons xD Ultimate: Understandable :3 How do you plan on becoming the next Prime Minister for Monia's Cafe? Sweet: Oof, this is a hard one. If there is going to be another election, I will definitely participate again, and try my hardest. I won't be able to pull the same trick again though, since that was a one-time use card ;3 This time, it's going to be tougher. I'm sure of it, but I'll count on the votes of my friends, and the votes of the people who believes that I'm going to be the best out of all the candidates. What I will do, is continue to try to be nice to people, make friends with them, and when the time comes, hope that I will be deserving enough of their votes, and maybe try another trick or two ;3 I have learned some things from last time and used my defeat as a learning opportunity. "Do not ruminate on this fleeting failure—the campaign is long, and victory will come." Ultimate: Yeah this question was pretty interesting, and I can only say GLHF ;3 Sweet: Thank you ^^ Where would you go to on your very first date? from @Mochigi Sweet: This depends on many things, though I think I would probably go somewhere to eat like a restaurant, talk with my date and have a nice time. If it's still daytime, maybe we'll go into a nice park or something. I'm not very good at picking locations since I have never went on a date ^^ This is pretty much all I can answer to this question ^^ Ultimate: You should invite a girl to an amusement park >w< Sweet: As I said, it depends on a lot of things There aren't any good Amusement parks in my town for example Ultimate: So it depends on the girl :3 Sweet: And I'm not going to go on a three to four hours trip just for an amusement park, six to eight hours if you include the time it takes to come back xD Ultimate: I see. :3 That makes sense! >w< Still, it would be a lot of fun :3 Sweet: Though, if it was a trip where we would be out of town for more days I would do it. Ultimate: That's nice. ;3 Next sent in question. :3 You love maids, don't you? What does the ideal maid look like? from @Mochigi Sweet: The ideal maid would be different for everyone. For me, it would be a quiet maid who can follow orders, but can still think for herself and take different actions if she believes it would be better. I don't want a puppet or a maid that I'd have to argue all the time with. For looks, it's pretty simple: long dark hair and any eye colour is fine for me, though, if it's an anime maid, I prefer red eyes ;3 For uniforms, I'd prefer a gothic maid uniform. Not too revealing, but not too covering either :3 Ultimate: I see:3 I actually want an improper maid who's smart, but not normal, which makes things funnier :3 Sweet: Everyone has their preferences :3 Ultimate: But I haven't thought about it actually :3 You're getting a dakimakura! (or imagine getting one...byeah, you're craving for a dakimakura to hug on lonely nights xDD) What cover would you get? from @Mochigi Sweet: This question is from Mochi, isn't it? xD Ultimate: Maybe;3 You can check who asked which questions when it's published someday ;3 Sweet: You can say maybe, but I'd recognise a question from Mochi. Usually by the xDD or xPP. Anyway, back to the question. Ultimate: If that's the case, Mochi is just too easy to read by his friends lol :3 Sweet: I don't want a dakimakura, so until now, I haven't thought of this. If I were to get one, it would probably be a Kanoe Yuuko one. I'd prefer a cute one over a lewd one, so I'd probably pick one like this: If I couldn't find one, then I'd probably buy one with Satanichia or Karino Shuka. Again, I'd prefer a cute one over a lewd one. I don't really need a daki, since I have my fluffy plushies :3 Not really fun fact: last year when I went to comic con, one stand was selling (lewd) daki covers, (lewd) posters, and mouse pads with boobs attached to them. Ultimate: Yeah. :3 Sweet: Both Poli and Shiro are interesting onee-chans, but they are very different, so it's hard to choose one. Poli is more like a yandere onee-chan who wants to collect my body parts for some reason, while Shiro is more of a kind and "ideal" big sister... but more perverted. We met in the Café and talked to each other like any two normal members would. One night she started to talk about a ship, and as the dense baka I am, I didn't understand that the ship was us until she said it in a pm xD Ultimate: lol how cute >w< Sweet: Because of the weird and sudden timing, I thought she was talking about me and @infierno xD Ultimate: I see. :3 So what elemental affinity do you have as a member of the kitsune (fox) race? Most kitsunes have at least 1 element, some can have up to 3 if they're strong enough. Sweet: Since my tail is black (to fit my favourite character type), it would be pretty obvious that the element is darkness. It's pretty fitting, since I feel calm at night, and some people call me vampire too. xD. My secondary element would probably be, electricity, since I want to go around zapping my enemies and yell "UNLIMITED POWER".
