| Wow, just wow. This is by far the best episode of the anime so far, and probably one of the best episodes I've seen in anime. Everything about this episode was perfect: the animation, the cinematography, the direction, the soundtrack, the execution, the storytelling, the action choreography, everything really. The end of the episode gave me literal chills with how epic it was. So this "child" demon really was the Kizuki demon, and not the one from the last episode, and Tanjirou was able to dodge the attack from last episode, barely, but soon after he was in a dead end, and seeing Nezuko sacrificing herself to save her brother was just emotional really. And from then on I have already said how the episode went. Like, wow, they really nailed with the delivery here. It was sweet how their dad helped Tanjirou, while their mother talked to Nezuko to save her brother. So much happened this episode, Nezuko performing demon art, Tanjirou acquiring/using a new form for his attacks (a fire one, the Hinokami), and we actually saw the face of Tanjirou's father for the first time. So Tenjirou's earrings really are from his father, which hints to the possibility of his father being a Demon Slayer too, since a demon before (I think it was the one from the Test that Tanjirou did to be a Demon Slayer) recognized those earrings. That also explains the whole Hinokami thing (that I'm expecting that they are explaining that better next episode). Nezuko being able to perform Demon Blood Art is also a big step up for them. And if you notice, you can see that the Demon Art she used actually helped Tanjirou's sword to cut that demon's neck, as it actually some of the blood was on the blade, and the explosion gave more momentum to the blade. So it was Nezuko and Tanjirou's bound that made it possible for them to defeat one of the 12 Kizuki demons. ... Or were they able to defeat it? I thought so, but the post credits scene makes it seem like the demon isn't dead yet. But Tanjirou sliced its neck, how could it still be alive? Anyways, realy, what an incredible episode. And judging by the fact this episode discussion has 1108 replies already, I think I'm not the only one that was mesmerized by this episode. Can't even believe this is the same Demon Slayer from episode 1 and 2. This arc really is elevating this anime to another level. We even got a new ending, really fitting for this special episode! This episode beautifully showed the power of the bound between the 2 siblings, Nezuko and Tanjirou. Edit: Forgot to mention, but I'm glad that Zenitsu was saved in time, and the scene between Inosuke and Giyuu and funny, and gave the episode a bit of a more light moment, just before the showdown that made this episode as epic as it was. |

| Every episode keeps trying to out-kino the last one. Nothing to say that hasn't already been said. The drama and emotions woven into the stunning animation and spellbinding climactic ED theme made this a cinematographically jaw-dropping. I absolutely adored how everything came together. Three episodes in a row got me misty-eyed, god I am such a shounenfag. Crazy how much better this arc is. Everything up to this arc was merely okay. |
