Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru

Yori and his twin sister Iku used to be very close as children but lately Yori has grown colder toward Iku and is always eager to stay away from her. Iku was confused by Yori's attitude. Actually Yori is in love with Iku and that forbidden love is causing Yori sleepless nights since Yori and Iku are sharing the same room with bunk beds. Yori tried to ease his intense desire for Iku by bedding Iku's best friend. He had even applied to attend a boarding school in another city to take him far away from Iku. Yori lost his resolve to stay quiet about his feelings when Iku started to talk about having a boyfriend and going on dates. Now Yori want to have his little sister and he confessed. Iku loves her big brother and wanted them to stay together, so Iku is willing to anything to keep them together. But Yori wanted to have Iku as a lover, not as a sister loyal to her twin.

Overall 10. It really is a masterpiece!
There's not a lot I can say of the plot of a 49-minute short film, but everything is so well-put. Art, sound, character... the whole package!

Some people are a little upset with the ending, but I wanted to remark this isn't where it all ends. The story continues in the manga from where the movie left off. They made it all very final and dramatic, but don't forget that even though they might live in different cities, they're still in the same country. It's not THAT far away! And they're only 15, still got their whole lives. Wherever the ... story will go after the short movie.

Mixed Feelings

Boku wa imouto ni koi wo suru, which can be translated as “I’m in love with my little” sister brings to us the controversial topic of incestuous love between fraternal twins. This subject will probably upset those with strictly religious moral values or at least those with anything against incest. This anime tells you the story of Iku and Yori, two fraternal twins of opposite genders, who despite being incredibly close to each other during their childhood started to grow apart as both grow up due the forbidden feelings Yori has for Iku.Finally, Iku gets a boyfriend when Yori had in mind to study abroad. ... Such event brings Yori to decide he wants his younger sister only for himself and so he confesses to her.
As long as you are OK with incest, the premise for this OVA is notbad, yet it became an average and predictable romance. The first problem with it is that Yori’s feelings towards his sister can be considered more lustful than romantic as they aren’t well explored and most of the time the plot focuses on his physical attraction to his sister what he mostly denies. So even with a good premise this anime is nothing more than a basic story that will probably emphasize more the stereotype of incest than educate people. Also the plot revolves more around flashbacks of the twins’ past than around of Yori’s struggle about his feelings towards Iku.

And fitting with the mediocre plot we have a completely mediocre animation and an under average and inconsistent art that seems to praise disproportionality. The scenarios were poorly drawn and the only thing about them was the use of lightning at some scenes. But not everything is bad in this OVA.

The OST, though not very original, was quite amazing with some piano pieces used at the right times to create the right feelings.

As for the characters there’s not much to say. Little we can see for their interaction and the dialogue barely transmitted the ideas that were there. Yori personality is somewhat inconsistent most of the times and while this could convey the idea of his troubled personality and feelings it only makes hard for the viewer to get attached to him. We still have Iku that is also another character where flaws prevail. She is oblivious and her actions don’t match with the personality the story tries to carry. It’s almost as she’s a character that has a different personality to adapt to each moment and scene.

The cherry in top of the cake is that this romance does not fail only as for the theme of incest, but it fails globally as a romantic story. Would or wouldn’t Yori and Iku be related their relation would still be completely shallow as the ideas of love aren’t conveyed properly or barely conveyed at all.

Overall, Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru is hardly appealing as all the story is mostly unmoving. With a better direction the premise could become a neater anime, with a better defined storyline and decent art and animation. Personally I felt this OVA was too rushed as it just has one 45min episode. Neither of the characters interested to me and the animation, for an anime released in 2005, made it barely watchable. My opinion is that this OVA is far from good but it’s also not the worse one out there, and the interesting premise makes it worth of being watched as it isn’t a complete waste of time.

I watched this in one sitting with my friend on Discord late at night, and I think this is the only way to really enjoy watching this OVA unless you’re already a big fan of incest. Not only is the art consistently inconsistent, but there just isn’t much of a plot because most of it is these two banging! I know it’s an OVA, but you can do way more in 49 minutes than just show the two siblings being freaky and then being like “no this is wrong!!”
Show how Yori even fell in love with Iku, Iku slowly forgetting about the taboo of ... their relationship and falling for him, how the hell this even happened in the first place. I’ve seen way more plot in a hentai,
Speaking of the banging, isn’t this adapted from a shoujo manga? I know they can be freaky as well, but I wasn’t expecting so many s🎀x scenes and overall lewd content from the genre that’s known for sugary sweet love stories 😭 is the manga like this? God, I hope not
Overall this OVA isn’t very good, I only recommend this to people looking for a good laugh or an anime to torture their friends with…also the women and girls that like the incest trope, but even then I feel like their standards would be higher than this
