Satsuriku no Tenshi

This was one of those anime I simply couldn’t stop watching. I binged the entire thing in a single day because every episode pulled me deeper into its dark, unsettling, yet strangely beautiful atmosphere. The story had this haunting charm that made it impossible to look away, and the dynamic between the characters kept me completely hooked from start to finish. I didn’t expect it to hit me so hard emotionally, but it absolutely did. There were scenes that broke me, scenes that made me cry, and moments that stayed with me long after I finished it. Even with all the chaos, fear, and tension, ... there’s something incredibly captivating about the way the story unfolds.
I genuinely loved it, every twist, every emotional moment, every bit of the strange bond between the characters. It’s the kind of anime that leaves you thinking about it long after the final episode, and I’m honestly so glad I watched it.

I appreciate the anime's story, message, and plot. However, it's not executed well. The initial episodes grabbed my attention, where Rachel Gardner was stuck in a deadly building. I enjoyed the mystery/thriller theme. However, the rest of the show was just her wishing she were dead after witnessing a gruesome murder. She doesn't want to keep living, and she makes that known when she meets Zack and asks him to kill her. Her negative attitude draws Zack's attention to her, and he becomes interested. The anime sometimes seems like it might become predictable or pointless, but the characters' attitudes never change from start to finish. ... Rachel always wants to die, and Zack always wants to kill. Zack needs Rachel's intelligence to escape the dungeon. Even though Rachel may want to die, she is responsible for Zack's escape.

The show's main theme is to change the perspective of someone who has lost the desire to live and help them find purpose. This differs from most anime, making it a unique and darker concept. It had a deep meaning behind the story. However, The show lacked uniqueness regarding the backstories, conversations, interactions, character development, and action scenes. The story felt repetitive as it followed the pattern of one psychopath after another being defeated by Rachel and Zack. The conversations can also get boring at times. However, the show's deeper meaning got me thinking after I finished watching it. The ending was interesting. It was a big surprise, and I really appreciated the added suspense.

I thought the opening and ending songs were good. The animation quality was also good. I did some research and found out that the anime is based on a game, and to fully understand the story, you need to play it. But since I didn't play the game, these are just my thoughts. If you're interested in a plot that's average and has a deep meaning, then give it a try. Overall, it was okay.

Well, where to start. One plus is this show is for sure unique in it's feel, pacing, and design. When I found out this was based on a game maker horror game, it all made sense. PErsonally I haven't dived into those type of games, but I understand the concept. They are usually low res top down games that rely heavily on the plot to carry the experience. For horror, it usually comes down to having some twist, or a bunch of shocking stuff to keep the player interested. It's not my cup of tea, but I understand.

I went on a bit of a tangent, ... but this show basically feels like playing that type of game. It has them going inot rooms trying to solve puzzles while they go through different floors and need to defeat the boss. The main characters have a bit of charm, but it's not enough to carry the plot for me. The place seems to exist just to hold video game levels, and doesn't make any logical sense. The characters can survive, or be killed at random based on how convenient it is for the plot, despite how fatal the blow looks.

I stuck to the end just out of curiosity of where it might go, since it just ramps up the crazy toward the end. I feel like I may be making it sound good by mistake, but if the though of a crazy mess interests you, go for it. I can say, I at least enjoyed the open ended nature of the ending. I can't really recommend this though.
