Kara no Kyoukai: Manner Movies

I never write reviews for anime. In fact, this will be the first review I've written for ANY show on MAL, and it's for... manner movies. Why? Because they are currently scored at 6.47 and I have to tell you, for being manner movies they are goddam adorable and awesome! Have y'all seen typical manner movies? They're pretty boring, just one of the main characters being in character and telling you to be quiet. This one featured stop motion, was funny, had actual action that occurred in a short scene, and was kawaii as hell.

Now quit being so mean to these adorable as f!$@ ... manner movies!

Only not 10/10 because I thought the sound work wasn't as fantastic as it could have been :P

This is a creative and fun way of doing "manner movies". Claymation is a unique idea and stands out from the 2D animation of proper KnK films. It's nice they did that, I think I prefer that to manner movies with chibi versions of characters from their shows (although that "Re:Zero" manner movie with Petelgeuse instructing viewers was gold). Clay figures look wholesome and kind of funny. The contrast between Shiki's and Mikiya's cute faces and the exhausted expression of Araya is real humour. Souren's figure is probably my favorite; he looks like all of us when we have to go to work/school/uni on Monday. ... It's cool to see Neco-Arc and "Fate" characters make an appearance here. Neco-Arc's sound are so happy, you will hear it when you watch the movies. We also get to see Nasu himself, the man who commited "Kara no Kyoukai", in action.

My favourite moments were Araya placing a boundary around the screening room cutting off Neko-Arc's phone signal and the movie that plays in the cinema depicting Nasu growing out of the ground and then chasing a butterfly - peak of Nasuverse. The one gig that ends with a romantic twist - "get hot without fire" - was great.

Anime fans should acknowlede ufotable for not only making a great adaptation of Nasu's novel, but also paying attentions to details and doing a great work even on minor stuff, such as those manner movies.
